Since it is a school day, I am now sitting on a room with multiple law students around.
Suddenly, there's an unexpected announcement informed by prof Madrigal, our current professor at this moment slash adviser.
"Students, I will just remind you that next week will be a holiday break for you guys, due to the non-working holiday. And the sa susunod pang mga araw, some of the professors will be conducting seminars, so you will not go to law school for the mean time, understood?"
She further explained some of the details, and some typical students were aroused with excitement. There were many "yes!" heard from them with the usual overwhelmed tone.
Including me, unexpectedly.
Guess I am also ready for a holiday, I mean who wouldn't? Well if i'm still the old me, I wouldn't.
But come on, ilang taon at mga pagkakataon na lumipas. Forget about the past.
Eternity passed by and me with the squadabels are now in the famous pizza restaurant in town. Guess who's treat it is? Marc.
The galante one in the group, yes he is. Speak of this guy, I wonder how at I wonder why talaga sya naglilibre out of a sudden.
Nagpapakitang-tao or what? Ey tama na Mabel, it's not right to judge a friend.
Wow, where did that came from?
Napatawa nalang ako ng malakas sa mga pumapasok sa isipan ko right now. "Ayos lang yang cuz mo Ry?" Tere asked my cousin and he facepalmed himself, dropping his pizza on the pan.
"Go on Ryan, I know what you're thinking," I started speaking in between my laugh.
"You can totally disown me as your cousin." Sabi ko, proudly placing my hand on my chest, pinapaubaya ko na talaga ng decision to him.
"What the heck?" Douglas gave me a disgusted look on his face while his hand is on his curly hair.
Nawa'y lahat mayroong pride.
"According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, heck is a noun which is used as a more polite form of hell." I gladly replied and he grit his teeth.
Oh gosh Douglas, don't tell me that your teeth is your second pride. Charot. "Hayaan mo na yan bro.. We'll drop her later sa asylum.." Ryan said, comforting Douglas.
"Anong asylum ha? If you'll drop me there, better if you'll also join me." I shot back at Ryan with glaring eyes.
"Magpa-lasik surgery ka muna." He said and all of the boys laughed..
He just mentioned my biggest insecurity about myself. How dare him? Then all of a sudden, memories we're flooding inside my head.
Bad memories that haunted me when I was still in middle school. Nung I was bullied almost by the entire elementary department.
"Mabel, ilan toh?"
"Hoi nerd!"
"Here comes the four eyed monster!"
"Bulag!"
Your words are harsh, Ryan Arevalo. You reminded me of things not worth it to remember.
How can this cousin talk carelessly about that matter. Once again, I felt like breaking my eye glasses.
No stupid, lalong wala akong makikita. Besides, wala din naman akong planong mag-undergo ng lasik surgery. Duh, people say that it costs a lot of money.
"Buang i-staple ko nang baba nimo rong buanga ka, laparo you want?" I don't know but I still managed to tell him all of these words with fake laughter.
Well, who am I to pull a sad face in from of these people? I shouldn't be exaggerated. I understand din naman thst maybe it was just a joke.
"Alam niyo ang kakapal niyo, all I understand from your sentence is the Buang word. Like girl, why is that?" Jennifer said. Huh? Wala rin talaga akong naintindihan sa sinabi niya.
"Hm, i'll just give you a dictionary sa birthday mo girl, hehe lam mo na anong makukuha mo ha?" I smirked at her and she rubbed her forehead with what I told her
"Spoil mo pa sige. Great job sis." She annoyingly said and I laughed.
"Don't be depressed, i'll give you the Louis Vuitton bag nalang on your birthday.." I joked and she applauded.
"Really!!?" sabi niya, with eyes wide open. "Yes, on your 40th birthday sis." I smiled and she totally got uo from her chair, ready to make sabunot to my hair, but the boys were stopping her from doing so.
The other girls are constantly trying to process the whole entire situation, until Chris showed up.
"Guys, sorry i'm late.. Na-flat kasi yung gulong ng kotse." he apologized but instantly stopped when he saw a furious looking Jenn.
"O, napaano yan? Where is her gigil coming from?" He asked, only to make the beast Jennifer go more violent, gosh. This situation is hilarious.
"Rawr rawr!" these words came out from Jenny's mouth and all of us broke into laughters.
"Oohh, the wild endangered animal had gone wilder! Rawr HAHAHAH" Chris said, making us laugh even more, but now, Jenn joined.
"Tama na, kumain na muna tayo guys.." Ash said and we are trying to catch our breath, from the intense scenario that happened.
"Umupo ka na Chris.. It's my treat bro, order what you want." Marc told Chris, and he sat between Marc and Teresa.
We chatted for some while, there were times wherein Chris is trying to make us laugh with his jokes, and sometimes hindi mapigilan na magkaroon ng tensyon, but those are solved anyways.
The hangout, in general, was so fun. We recalled our highschool memories together, and we planned na lilipad kami papuntang Mindanao next week.
Oh yes, lilipad talaga as if we have wings. Just kidding, we are booking flights papunta doon.
To Ryan and my hometown.. Iligan City!!
It will be the first time of our friends to witness that beauty of our dearest hometown. But sadly, Atheena cannot join us.
She said wala daw siyang sapat na money to avail a ticket. But when Teresa offered her na sasagutin niya ticket ni Tin-tin, she refused once again. Her excuse nanaman is that she needs to look after their stall sa divisoria.
Poor Atheena, I wish I could really do something for her. I told her not to worry instead, and that dadalhan ko siya ng mga pasalubong from Iligan.
