" Let go of me!"

Tor twisted her hand for her to drop the can into the shopping cart as another man in a black suit walked up to them. Another one quickly took his position at the end of the isle while he took her cart. He let go of her waist and grabbed her right wrist with his right hand to drag her out. This time she resisted, she was never going back with him. Her life was good here, she had met a man who loved and protected her. Who was loving, most importantly, towards her three children and was very much understanding of her past. Understanding enough to wait till they were married to have sexual intercourse.

" Let go! I'm not going anywhere with you."

" I never understood what I did to you for you to keep my kids away from me?"

" Are you seriously asking me that question after everything you and your dear wife put me through?! Tor there's so much that one person can take and I was_ I am done with you. I gave you the benefit of the doubt thinking that you would protect us, put us first but that night at the hospital after you blatantly took her side, I understood that I was nothing. That I was a mistress, who unfortunately had your children and that's all I was going to be."

" You miss understood me and I was protecting you. I still am that's why I made sure she was convicted for her crimes and is currently in prison for forty years."

" She's behind bars?"

" Yes."

" You're not lying to me right now?"

For the first time in a longtime she felt relived, Akilah was finally locked up. Though she would have preferred life, forty was good enough.

" I swear to God. Now let's go get our children and go home."

"  I can't."

" Why not?"

" I've met someone and we're getting married in four months."

She said showing him the teardrop engagement ring on her finger. He shook his head and chuckled. She could not understand why but his chuckle made her shiver and when he looked up at her all she saw was darkness in his eyes. That brought fear into her and she wanted to run but then again there was nowhere to run to. Without warning her he grabbed left hand and pulled out the ring from her fourth finger.

" Tor!!"

" You have the audacity to flaunt that ring in my face when you declined my proposal and you're out here making my children call another man dad! When I am alive and well. Willing to give you everything this idiot is giving you and more. Amara I'm already pissed don't make it worse for you or this idiot you talk so highly of."

" I'm sorry but I had to protect us."

" I told you I would but you were too selfish to listen to me."

Without another word, she hurried into one of his sport utility vehicles. About five were parked infront of the store. As she walked out of the store she noticed that they were the only one's there, that means he shut down the store. For the first time since she met him she was realizing how powerful he was.
