RAGE ...
Was what she felt when she came across a video in her husband's phone of what seemed like the twins birthday party. Seeing him with their children around her, he seemed so happy. Happier than he had even been in years and so comfortable. He was even glowing because of Amara. She wanted to smash his phone into pieces but could not.
'' I hate you Amara.''
'' Then why are you seated here while she's living stress free with the benefits you should be getting?''
Her mother-in-law asked her. She was the one to inform her of the video.
" I don't know what to do anymore, your son takes up for her everytime I try to do something."
" Then you need to change your strategy. Look at the bleach incident..."
Her mother-in-law made air quotations to the word incident. Akilah smirked it was a brilliant plan. Although it did not go as planned and she almost got caught, her husband defending her was worth it.
" That almost backfired and that social worker won't get off my back."
" She's still investigating you?"
" Yes!"
" I thought after meeting with you the investigation was over?"
" No she keeps calling to ask more questions or clarify something I said. I don't understand why she's harrasing me and not the mother."
" Don't worry about her. I'll take care of that."
" How?"
" Don't worry about that."
" I don't want you getting in trouble with your son because of me. Things here are already tense between us and don't want to make it worse."
" My son should have known that I do not tolerate cheating, not after what I went through with his dad."
" I never thought he would cheat because of how much he hated what his father did to you."
Akilah knew from her husband about his father's extra marital activities and he swore he would never be like him but look at them now. He was about to have three kids with another woman just like his father who had two children outside marriage with two different women.
" Do you think cheating is genetical?'
Akilah asked.
" I think men are just greedy and stupid. I thought since he witnessed everything with his father, he wouldn't but I guess I was wrong."
" That's the thing that baffles me too. I figured it's because I cannot give him anymore children and he's always wanted more because he says it was never easy being an only child."
" He always asked for a little brother or sister but I was not about to put my life in danger and risk getting some disease from his father. "
" I would do anything to give him a child and I really regret everything that happened that led to all this. Maybe if I didn't-"
" Hey! Don't! Don't you dare blame yourself for his inability to keep his dick in his pants. Blame him or better yet blame this Amara, she's the one who slept with a married man and had children by him."
As much as she blamed and hated Amara for ever laying her eyes on her husband, part of her knew that she was a victim too but somebody had to pay for the pain she was feeling. Her husband's infedility had changed her, she was never this vindictive person.
