REGRET
'' You were right.''
'' Amara I'm right about a lot of things, what are you talking about?''
'' About the fact that Tor might be hiding a family out here.''
'' Oh my gosh baby, I'm sorry and I was only saying that because I was jealous and did not want you to leave.''
Amara could not hold her tears back as she spoke to her closest friend over FaceTime.
'' This Akilah doesn't know why you had to leave suddenly?''
'' I doubt because she's been trying to call and texting me to ask if everything is ok. Babe I feel so bad. I should have known.''
'' How could you have babe, the man moved you into his hometown and even made time for you whenever you needed him. Damn he was there when the twins were born and even spent a month helping you with them. Who would have known he was living a double life. Don't blame yourself love, he's to blame."
'' I never in my life wanted to be cheated on, less alone the side chick. It's funny how after being with an abusive and habitual cheater, I become a side chick and baby momma.''
'' Hey don't ever call yourself that. You're a great mother and you take care of your children. You run your own company. You're a bad bitch and none of this is your fault.''
Her friend's words brought her a little comfort but the truth was that she was somebody's side and worse part of it was that she had his children.
''My heart doesn't feel that right now. I want to come home.''
''To what Amara? As much as I love and miss you there's really nothing here for you anymore. Rich and I are moving too next month. Plus the twins love and need their daddy.''
As soon as she turned eighteen her mother kicked her out of her home. Her sister had been kicked out four years prior to her and was currently married to an English woman. They were living overseas. According to her mother, she had no children and was out there living her life.
'' How am I going to continue living in the same city as him. Let alone co-parent knowing what he has done?"
" You're going to have to bite the bullet for the twins."
" Why do we women have to sacrifice and compromise for men. ''
''I guess that's part of being a mother.''
'' Babe I'll call you later. The devil himself just walked in.''
Amara mentally scolded herself for not taking her keys from him as she watched him walk in with red roses. If this was two days before she would have swoon over this gesture.
'' I come in peace.''
'' In that case put your keys on my dresser and leave. ''
''Amara babe come on. I thought you would have calmed down by now.''
'' Calm down! Are you fucking serious right now. You cheated on your wife-''
'' She's my fiance.''
'' I don't care, leave. ''
It took everything in her not to breakdown infront of him but he had to know what he did was unacceptable to her. He could not sweet talk her.
" I just need you to hear me out."
" Hear you out?_Fine!!"
She took the bouquet from him, only to attack him with them till he ran out.
