DSOFJODJ IT'S BEEN A WHILE, HOW ARE YOU GIYS???

Ok so I think this is a longer chapter - it's supposed to be me apologising for abandoning you guys for so long.

Anyways. I feel better now. This chapter isn't really that lively and like idk what to say I'm sorry??

It's not that fun either but I wanted to get the travel process over and done with. Yes this is sorta significant though because (I mean this isn't really a spoiler so don't worry) it like highlights how out of place WYB's character is. Like how his work has isolated him from the world. So boring-ish but significant chapter.

I'll hopefully be updating more nowww!!! I'm on holiday hehe.

WYB:

After a lot of late-nights and sleep loss, Wang Yibo finally managed to create a window in which he could leave for a bit. A bit. Wang Yibo booked plane tickets to H island (A/N America and Europe seemed to cliche and I didn't choose Thailand cause writing about the country I'm from through a tourist's perspective is... strange so I opted for a totally fake island. Though I have been a tourist in my own country a few times ahaha.) and booked a suite with 2 bedrooms rooms for a mere 2 nights. The trip wasn't for very long and they weren't really going anywhere that far but it was better than nothing.

Wang Yibo figured that since they were going somewhere with Disneyland, they might as well spend a whole day there. With how long the lines were, going for a few hours would at most, be enough for only 1 or 2 rides. The hotel he booked was also a well known one with chains across the entire world. He was well aware that there was a chance his trip would be cut short and he wasn't short of money so he might as well make sure any time he could spend was more than worth it.

He also decided to make time for ice-skating. Although skate-rinks could be found all over the mainland, he never had the time to visit them. Obviously now that he had the chance to, he was also going to go all out on food. There was still half a week to go but Wang Yibo had already decided: this trip was going to be epic - after all, it was his first holiday in nearly 10 years and probably the last one for the next 10 years too.

He sighed and considered asking Xiao Zhan if there were any places in particular that he wanted to go. They should probably also go somewhere historic or at least iconic of H island but Wang Yibo would be lying if he ever said he had interest in that sort of stuff. It didn't matter where they went. He just wanted to have some fun.

Eventually the day arrived. Richard was driving them to the airport and Wang Yibo who was seated alone in the backseats sighed. He was exhausted but he wouldn't deny being excited for his upcoming trip. He couldn't remember the last time he was on a plane for a non-work related reason. In fact, when it came to work he often took the organisation's private planes - he could hardly remember being on a normal plane.

Finally they reached the airport and Richard helped them unload their luggage. Wang Yibo soon realised that other than forgetting what it was like to ride on a normal plane, he also forgot how to get on the plane in the first place. To make the process quicker, and since he was the employer (not at all because he just didn't know how to) he suggested Xiao Zhan check in for the both of them. When it came to passing security, he also volunteered to go second. Wang Yibo, the one with authority, the one who was always a step ahead of others, found himself hiding behind his 'fragile' PA.

To say he felt out of place was an understatement. 'Normal life' just wasn't something Wang Yibo fit into anymore. The airport was definitely a gathering place for all sorts of 'normal life'. It was a gathering place for people of different backgrounds and norms. So many different kinds of 'normal life' and he didn't fit into any of them at all. He envied people who could separate their work and personal life - people who didn't have to worry that they'd be caught off guard by enemies whilst on 'holiday'.

XZ:

Xiao Zhan was frantic. He didn't know why but Wang Yibo kept handing him the reins today. Xiao Zhan felt like he was pushed onto a mantle and forced into leading an empire.

Empire meaning Wang Yibo - someone with that sort of power ought to be worthy of such a title.

He didn't know whether he should admit that he'd never checked in before, never gone through security first and most definitely never been forced to find his way to the departure gate on his own either.

Afterall, the last time he'd been on a plane was when he was still on good terms with his adoptive family.

That was a long time ago.

And back then he always had people willing to assist him.

He didn't have the money for a plane now. He mostly opted for trains or busses. But he was supposed to help Wang Yibo with things like checking in. He was the 'personal assistant' and this was his job. Luckily he had searched up how to navigate an airport last night. Though none of that helped when it came to trying to find their gate.

Since it was a domestic flight, the best seats available were business class. Xiao Zhan had read on the internet that food on such flights more often than not, weren't that filling so he suggested they find something to eat beforehand.

After wandering around aimlessly for nearly 20 minutes, Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan finally sat down at a random lounge Wang Yibo somehow managed to gain access to through his credit card.

'They have some dumplings and noodles.' Xiao Zhan told Wang Yibo after taking a look at the buffet.

'Get a few dumplings.' Wang Yibo told him.

They ate their food in silence.

'We still have almost an hour, is there anything you want to do?' stunned, Xiao Zhan turned to look at Wang Yibo dumbfounded.

'Uh... no..no... is there anything you'd like to do?' Xiao Zhan asked in return.

'No.'

They then continued sitting in silence until it was almost time to board. Once they reached the gate, Xiao Zhan couldn't help but glance at Wang Yibo. Was it just him or did his employer seem more deflated than ever?
