Once it was time to board, Xiao Zhan followed Wang Yibo past the attendant checking their tickets in front of the gate. He glanced worriedly at his seemingly energy deficient employer. They were on a trip and considering Wang Yibo's personality, Xiao Zhan hadn't expected him to be running around like his energy pack had been supercharged but he did expect a little more enthusiasm or at least... not what he considered equivalent to a deflated balloon. But, everyone had their days off and Xiao Zhan understood that - Wang Yibo was probably just burnt out from all the extra work he had to put in for the opportunity to leave work, after all, running a corporation isn't easy.

He followed Wang Yibo into the plane, followed him through the cabin, past the first 2 seats and slumped down next to him in their respective seats. Originally, Xiao Zhan was going to sit in the window seat in order to give Wang Yibo easier access to the various facilities seeing as he was the employer but once they got on the plane, Wang Yibo went over to sit at the window seat directly, stating that he didn't want to bother with communicating to strangers right now even if it's their job (so I'm talking about air-hostesses). Xiao Zhan didn't say anything and only continued to frown at his employer, secretly eyeing him, checking on him, every now and then.

The plane eventually took off and Xiao Zhan who hadn't been on a plane since he was young, inexplicably started to feel nervous. He hadn't been on a plane in a long time but seeing as it was 'a long time' and not 'never been on a plane' he didn't think much of it. But now, as they were on their way up, the realisation seemed to hit him, releasing a wash of fear upon impact. He felt a little nauseous and his sight seemed to dim. The air became thinner and he felt sweat start to pool on his forehead and under his pits. He could hear his own breathing and his jaw tensed up unwillingly. Xiao Zhan chose to focus his sights onto his hands which were placed on his knees, he tried to keep his mind afloat as he stared at his fingers tense up, his knuckles whitening.

Why are you afraid? You've been on a plane before, nothing's gonna happen. He repeated this statement in his head over and over again but trying to convince himself of something he didn't know if he truly believed in was almost impossible. 'What if...?'s seemed to be surrounding him, irrational fears that came along with the darkness threatened to drown him but in the midst of all this chaos and pandemonium, Xiao Zhan suddenly found something to focus on.

It was warm.

His bony fingers, the ones drained of blood, were suddenly engulfed in something undeniable warm. The presence was small, covering only his hands and fingers, but the warmth seemed to spread. It was like light, a warm sunny light, dissipating all the scary shadows. It was a unique presence, one full of surety, confidence but not arrogance. It made Xiao Zhan feel almost... safe.

His sight slowly returned, still focusing on a hand. Except it wasn't his hand. It was the hand that shielded his. He let out a breath, embarrassed at the fact that his hands were probably cold but clammy - not pleasant to hold onto - but slightly relieved,

Don't be scare Wang Yibo seemed to be saying as he stared out of the window, nonchalant, still holding onto Xiao Zhan.

Once the plane steadied, the seatbelt sign turned off, and Wang Yibo who seemed a little lost, seemed to suddenly gain consciousness, peeling his gaze off the cabin window and turning towards Xiao Zhan.

'Are you okay?' he asked. Xiao Zhan, who was still suffering from embarrassment underneath the relief, tensed up a little before nodding.

'I... I haven't been on a plane in a while, I didn't think I'd develop a fear.... I... I'm sorry.' His mind was still muddled and he didn't know how to respond.

Randomly developing fears is normal.' Wang Yibo replied, letting go of Xiao Zhan's hands. 'Sometimes I have to check myself for new ones too.' He smirked a little and Xiao Zhan's expression cleared up as he chuckled a bit.

The air hostess soon arrived with a cart full of drinks.

'Would you like anything?' she asked with a pleasant smile, interrupting Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan's conversation.

Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan spent the rest of the plane ride on their phones, eating and only occasionally chatting.

It was only when the plane started descending that Wang Yibo glanced briefly at Xiao Zhan before reaching for his hands again. Xiao Zhan didn't say anything.

The plane eventually returned to the ground. Apart from light nausea and a sweat soaked back, Xiao ZHan didn't pass out again. Wang YIbo let go of his hands and they exited the plane side by side.

The both of them were tired and didn't talk again until they reached the hotel. Once again, Wang Yibo gestured for Xiao Zhan to go check it.

He was surprised to find that Wang Yibo had only reserved one room but pushed that aside once he learned it was a family suite with more than one room.

They followed the receptionist to their room, she placed the keycard against the door and Xiao Zhan who seemed to finally register that he was going to be spending his time in the same room - or set of rooms seeing as this was a suite with multiple rooms - as Wang Yibo couldn't stop himself from feeling slightly giddy.
