i think boyfriend luke is starting to grow on me. it's not like a lot has changed; he's still my best friend, but now with a few extra perks.

i learned that i love kissing luke. whether it be a quick peck or a full make out, his lips are like a drug and i can't get enough. if i'm being honest, i can't get enough of luke in general. unless either of us is working or out running errands, we spend most of our time together. yet i still find myself wishing he was beside me wherever i go.

things are good and i hope they stay that way. i know we're in a honeymoon phase as they call it, but i never want it to end.

another perk of boyfriend luke was he does cute things like being me flowers to work when he comes to take me out for lunch. i hadn't noticed the tall australian walk through the door with a bouquet of roses in his hand as i was busy typing out the outline of a meeting my boss had coming up that peter said he didn't have time for. he had ran it past his boss and he agreed as long as peter walked me through it all. i had plenty of ideas, it was just making sure to choose which ones best fit this band's vibe. if all went well, i would have the opportunity to sit in on the meeting next week.

it wasn't until the boy cleared his throat that i looked up to find him leaning on the counter with a rose between his teeth. he wiggled his eyebrows at me as a large smile spread over my face.

"for my lady." he said in a silly accent as he handed me the single rose.

"thank you lu, they're beautiful." i stood and leaned over the counter to quickly peck his cheek. he took our close proximity as an opportunity to carefully pluck the single rose from my hands and replace it with the rest of the bouquet.

"what can i say, every pretty lady deserves some pretty flowers." he shrugs and holds up the single rose. "this one is for petunia."

i quickly covered my mouth to muffle the loud laugh that almost escaped. "oh my god lucas. you're ridiculous."

"hey, she was the light of my life before you came along, can't have her thinking she's being replaced." he responded as if to further prove his point.

"oh i would never try and replace petunia." i chuckle with a shake of my head. "ready to go?"

"course bub, shall we ask calum if he wants to join us?" he asked and i quickly nodded handing him back the flowers to hold.

"let me go get him." i made my way to calum's desk before tapping his shoulder.

"luke and i are going to grab some lunch, care to join?" i asked earning a bright smile from the boy as he turned around in his chair. once he agreed, we made our way back to get luke who we found to be having a conversation with peter.

"hey pete, what's up?" i asked as i made my way back over to my desk, grabbing my purse.

"laila hey, i just came over to see if you needed any help, but instead i got to meet your boyfriend." he chuckled. "i was just telling him about the meeting you're working on for roberts."

my face quickly lit up and nodded. "i'll tell you all about it at lunch!" i smiled proudly turning my attention to luke before back to peter. "i do have a few questions though for you when i get back if you're free?" the boy nodded and we all waved as we made our way out of the building.

"how is that project going so far lai?" calum asks as we get into luke's car and he starts it up.

"i actually think i have some pretty good ideas for this band, i went through all their stuff and reviewed what they're looking for, i just wanted to run some things by peter since he's been working with them longer." i smile.

"so what's this project exactly?" luke asked, seeming a little confused.

"you know how pete is like one of the only people i'm really friends with here besides calum? well, he was complaining to me about how overwhelmed he was with all the assignments our boss, roberts, has been giving him and i felt bad so i asked if there was anything i could do. it started as a joke, but he asked for any ideas on promo and i gave him one that he said actually was a really good idea." i shrugged and glanced at luke to make sure he was still following along. his eyes remained on the road, but he nodded for me to keep going.

"he asked if i wanted to write up the plan since it was my idea. he ran it by roberts, who seemed a bit skeptical, but i guess with some convincing he agreed as long as peter helped me out. if he likes it i may get to attend the meeting with the band next week." i bit my lip to hold back my smile and luke reached over for my hand. i placed my hand in his and gave it a squeeze.

"that's great baby, i'm proud of you. so, if he likes it does that mean you get to do more projects in the future?" he asked curiously.

i shrugged my shoulders. "i'm not really sure, but i was hoping i'd get the opportunity to share my skills since i started, you know? i don't want to just be a secretary forever."

"well i know how smart you are so i'm sure your ideas are great. and if roberts can't see that then he's an old, grumpy bum. but, i don't doubt your talents for a minute." he gave my hand one last squeeze before releasing it as he parked the car. i gave him a grateful smile.

"thank you lu." i hummed as he leaned forward to peck my lips.

"of course bub."

"can we go before i lose my appetite?" calum faked gagged from the back seat. "couples make me sick."
