It was the day before Elsie and the boys, who called themselves the marauders, were going back to Hogwarts for their 7th year. Elsie was in her room waiting for the rest of the boys to arrive at James' house. It was a marauder tradition to have a sleepover the night before school started. Elsie's thoughts drifted off and began exploring the boys she met on the Hogwarts Express in their first year, who were now a huge part of her life.

Sirius Black was a smooth-talking god who could have any girl he wanted melting at his feet due to his physical appearance. He had perfect, black, shoulder length hair, accompanied by a strong facial structure. His jawline was sharp and his presence was commanding, probably the only traits he inherited from the Black family that disowned him back in 4th year. He was a Gryffindor through and through, he would do anything to protect the ones he loved. He wasn't raised in a house of love, and because of this, he hid his emotions almost as well as he hid the scars on his back; scars that reminded him of how different he was from his family. Because she now got to see Sirius everyday after the Potters' took him in, Elsie saw Sirius more as an older brother than a friend, despite the flirtatious teasing done between the two.

Remus Lupin, on the other hand, was a scar-faced boy with one of the most purest souls she has ever met, pretty much the complete opposite of Sirius. Remus had a soft and inviting demeanor that came along with his tall, lanky body and sandy brown hair. He was the type of boy who folded their socks and carried around chocolate just in case his friends ever needed a pick-me-up. Once, Elsie had walked in on him reading to a crying first year in order to calm them down. He was a soul that showed kindness to everyone and everything, something that world hadn't given to him in return. When he was younger, Remus was viciously attacked and bitten by a werewolf named Fenrir Greyback in a revenge plot on his father. So every full moon since the age of 4, the kind boy that had his innocence taken away from him too soon was met by excruciating pain, both mentally and physically. The only thing him and Sirius had in common were scars, except Remus' whole body was covered in them.

There was also Peter Pettigrew. Elsie saw Peter as her younger brother. She wanted nothing more than to protect him from everything and anything that would scare him. But, most importantly, she wanted to teach him to be confident and able to protect himself. She was still working on this because Peter was...well, Peter. He was scared of everything. He was small and shy, with short blonde hair and anxiously-bitten nails. Although he was more reserved than the others, Elsie knew the sweet boy was put into Gryffindor for a reason. She knew that he tried his best to be there for his friends in his own way. He always found some way to keep the conversation flowing when it grew awkward or when he felt someone else starting to get uncomfortable.

And then, there was James Potter, her best friend. Her thoughts don't even know where to begin when it comes to him. He was averagely tall, yet still managed to tower over the 5'2 girl. He had unruly, curly brown hair that perfectly framed his defined face and round glasses. However, his physical features were probably the least impressive thing about him, and that's saying A LOT. James is the definition of a Gryffindor. He is brave and selfless, putting himself after others always. He's the type of person that would go back to his room and cry only when he's alone in order to prevent anyone from feeling like he's burdening them, something only Elsie was ever a witness to. He was determined, focused, and had the biggest heart out of everyone she knew, which caused him to be both a skilled prankster and a passionate lover. It was the reason why he would love the same girl after 6 years of rejection and denial. And, the reason why Elsie felt so captivated by him.

Elsie was snapped out of her train of thought as she finally finished a book that Remus suggested to her. "Remus Lupin, a sucker for a romance novel," she chuckled to herself as she closed the book, "who would've thought?"
