The pain was beginning to feel overwhelming. Tears streamed endlessly down my face clouding my already blurry vision. As time passed and the little memories I had left of the past trickled hazily into the forefront of my mind; Too tired to discern whether they were comforting or a cruel trick of fate, of what was, what could have been in another life. The sounds of snapping twigs interrupted my dazed thoughts, sending one last wave of fear running through me and with the last of my strength I wrapped my arms around my stomach and curled protectively into myself, waiting for the pain to come. Masculine voices cut in and out, bouncing and weaving in between my ears, making me dizzy. Just as my heavy eyes started to close and my furled self goes limp a pair of piercing green eyes appeared in the distance, staring straight at me. "Mate," whispered that voice in my head.
