I crouched down, looking at the bubbling water in front of us. The stairs were flooded down to the second platform. And even if the floor downstairs were as tall as the ones here, the water would still reach up to our chest or neck. And at the speed it was rising. The water would reach the roof in a few minutes.
"We'll have to go check in first," said Jin, "To see if this path even leads somewhere or not."
"And what if it doesn't?" Jimin asked.
"Hopefully, we'll have enough time to find another route before the ships sinks, or there is another explosion."
"That's... motivating."
I sighed, and looked up to Namjoon. The taller bearing a concerned expression, probably the same as me. We needed to figure out who will be able swim across the flooded room and find a way out of here. And as if hearing the question in my mind, Jungkook spoke up-
"I'll go."
All of us turned towards the youngest in our group. Jin and Namjoon frowning at the proposition.
"No, absolutely not." Jin said in a stern voice. Jungkook scrunched up his face as if he was about to say against Jin, but seeing the look on the faces of the others, he realised there would be no point. Honestly, I think the kid could be able to swim through the room and get back safely.
He's stronger and more capable than the other realize. And maybe, they were letting him solely because he the youngest and they didn't want to get injured, but I didn't really think he needed that protection. And the more the others tried to protect him, the more agitated he'll grow and end up doing something reckless and outside of his ability.
"Let him go." I stated. Jin and Namjoon giving me a perplexed expression.
"What hyung? Are you serious-" Namjoon gasped out.
I glance at the water and then with a sigh, got up. My attention was on the Jungkook as I asked, "How good can you swim?"
Jungkook gave me a smile before answering, "State level."
I shrugged, "Good enough."
Jungkook nodded, and started to take off his shirt, while Jin and Namjoon stood up in front of me.
"What are you doing? He'll get hurt!" Namjoon muttered.
I sighed once again and answered, "Look, he says he a state level swimmer and probably has the best chances of getting in and out of there safely and find us a way. I understand where your concern lies, and trust me, I won't be letting him go if I wasn't sure he won't be safe."
"Fine." Jin agreed, "I'll go with him."
We glanced over to the younger was talking to Jimin and Taehyung in hushed voices. Jin walked over the youngest, and said something to him. After a few seconds they were both ready to dive into the water.
