I realized it the moment, I saw the look in Yoongi's eyes

I realized it the moment, I saw the look in Yoongi's eyes. And seeing it, I couldn't move myself from my position. My mind faltering as the realization seeped into me. I felt someone grab on the back of my shirt and pull me as the creatures ran into the tunnel after Yoongi and Jimin. I tried to resist. I wanted to resist. But my body felt so out of my control. Like for that moment, it felt as if my own body didn't belong to me. I felt numb, and lifeless like a puppet. I didn't want to leave. I didn't want to leave Yoongi and Jimin in there. They won't make it.

I couldn't-

"Namjoon move!" I heard Jin growl, push me forward. And for there on, my body moved on its own. It was simple. My entire system was in flight or fight mode; the former being the sensible option. I didn't have to think, or will myself.

My legs hurt. Throbbing pain numbing my leg, but I couldn't stop. We ran directly into the forest. Trying to fight the urge to look back with all my will power. Those creatures, they should be able to come out. It's night, there's nothing to stop them from coming out of their hellhole.

But I heart them.

I heard multiple, bone-chilling, screeches from behind us. They weren't close. But they were after us. The moonlight was there. But it wasn't enough. It wasn't enough to see through the dense canopy without fear of stumbling over every second.

But the human capabilities, divides into two paths during the time of danger— we either make a stupid mistake, and become weaker, or the fear pushes us to our limit. Which might be the case for me. For, so far, I was able to run through the mess of vines, and exposed root on the forest floor without loosing my footing once.

Or the why I was able to see in the bare minimum light.

"There!" I heard Jungkook yell. I didn't have to ask where he was pointing to. I saw it. The bright white light coming from a building at a distance. My eyes widen when I saw a shadow from the inside. Someone is present. Someone can save us.

It wasn't too far away. We could make it

I clenched my jaws, taking in quick breaths as I glanced to my side. Seeing Jungkook at the lead. He was the first one to reach the building. Pushing the door open before entering. But getting inside the house won't be the end of it. These things may not enter the building because of the light, but it won't stop them from lurking around. We'll just be trapped here until morning.

And there's no saying if the lights will stay till that long.

I slowed just a little, letting the others run inside. Trying to ignore the fact that by slowing down, I was just getting closer to my death. Suddenly there was bright lights being pointed out from the building. It made the creatures screech out in pain, and stop. But I knew it won't be for long and I couldn't stop.

Just as Jin entered through the door, he reached forward to grab my outstretched arm, and pulled me inside, pushing the door shut. I glanced to the side and saw Taehyung and Jungkook at the window, holding up two big torch, pointed out the window. I took in a deep breath, and looked around, seeing torn wires and ropes amongst a lot of other stuff. Picking them up, I handed a few to Hoseok and took some for myself.
