When I opened my eyes again, I was met with nothing but darkness. For a second my mind was blank as I was trying to recall whatever had happened. And with cold dread I remembered running from the creatures. Nothing by darkness, and narrow tunnels.
And that's why I realized I was squeezed in a small, dark place. My immediate response was to move away but I couldn't. My heart started pounding against my ribs. Almost hurting. But before I could do anything, I felt a hand being pressed over my mouth. And another hand tightening around my body.
"Keep quiet, a little bit longer." I heard a deep voice's whisper. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion as I tried to put a face to that voice.
Oh.
Yoongi hyung.
The small hole in the wall.
Hiding.
A creature lurking right outside our small hiding spot.
I nodded a little, as much as I could manage to move my head. Then, Yoongi pulled back his hand, and shifted around just a little. I let a out breath when I got a bit more space. Craning my head down, I looked to the mouth. Moving my feet as much as I could to get a better look outside.
"It's morning..." I whispered, squinting my eyes to get a better focus on the faint yellow light I was able to see. The exit was near to his place, and I assumed that's where the light was coming in from.
We stayed still for a while, just listening to any sounds that we could hear. Anything that told us that those creatures were still outside. After what seemed like several minutes, Yoongi spoke up again.
"Stay here." He murmured, "I'm going to go out and see if everythings clear. If I don't come ba-"
"No!" I blurted before he could finish that damned sentence. My heart beating faster just at the thought of loosing someone else. "No, no, no."
I heard him let out an exasperated sigh, before he spoke, "Don't move until I'm back."
I pressed my lips in a thin line. I didn't want him to risk his life, but I was already pushing my limit since last night. It was better if I don't make him mad. Slowly, Yoongi shifted downwards. Stopping every second to two, to hear for any alarming sounds. Thankfully enough, he was able to get out this small hole without any danger lurking around. Once he was out, I had enough room to shift in my position. Curling up, I turned my body around. Facing the mouth of the hole. I saw Yoongi looked around outside, before walking towards the left. And once he disappeared, all I was left to do was count the seconds before he could come back.
If he comes-
No, he will.
"Hundred twenty-five... Hundred twenty-six..." I murmured under my breath. Counting the seconds seemed to keep me from loosing my mind from the anxiousness. "Where are you..."
