I grimaced at the sight in front of me. Whoever had bled out that much was probably dead. There was no way they could've lived after that much of blood loss. Which brings two question in my mind. One, what the hell happened that led to this situation. Second, if they did die, where the body?
"What do you think must have happened?" I heard Namjoon ask.
"A wild animal?" Jin replied, sounding unsure himself.
I shook my head, "There can't be something big and dangerous enough to kill a human on this island."
"Why do you think so?" Jin asked.
"Have you seen a single herbivore here? A pig, boar, or even a rabbit? What is a carnivore supposed to eat? The path to this building is literally through a forest. If there was any animal big enough, we would've had some kind of hints." I answered, shaking my head and walking inside the room. Careful not to step on the dried blood, "Moreover, how in the world can a wild animal get inside a research facility and kill not one but two person."
"And the drag marks..." Namjoon sighed, rubbing his chin and frown on his face, "It doesn't go downstairs. Why would an animal take something upstairs instead of taking it back to its den or whatever."
"Do you think we should go and check upstairs?" Hoseok asked.
I chewed on the inside of my cheeks and clicked my tongue. I wasn't too eager about the idea of it. But we needed to make sure this place was safe for us to stay. I glanced up at Namjoon and from the looks on his face, he seemed to have similar thoughts.
"Alright, let's go." I say, turning around.
The other nodded as they left the room after me. I saw Hoseok run into another room and come back with a rod. I raised by eyebrow at it, and he merely chuckled.
"Just in case." He muttered.
I didn't say anything and turned around, heading to the stairs. A frown forming on my face when I saw the blood trail go upstairs. But what confused me was that it didn't go all the way up to the last step. Instead, it stopped in the middle and more blood was splashed around on the stairs and walls.
I heard Hoseok mutter a curse at the sight from behind me. I stepped and glanced towards Namjoon. The taller rolled his eyes and gave me an amused looked. I simply returned it with a cheeky smile; stepping aside to let him go first.
I went after them, Jin behind and Hoseok at the last. The stench upstairs was even more horrible. My eyes widen immediately seeing the sight in front of me. Compared to this, the room downstairs were absolutely nothing.
It was a complete bloodbath in hair. Red stains all of the walls and floors. Everything was ransacked and broken. And the flickering red light only made everything worse. Hesitantly, I stepped forward. There was no point in being careful anymore. There was blood everywhere. Shattered glasses everywhere.
