I wake as if it's an emergency, as if sleeping had become a dangerous thing

I wake as if it's an emergency, as if sleeping had become a dangerous thing. My heart beats fast and there is a buzzing in my brain and together they are as panic with jump-leads. Heavy pants fall one after the other as I look around. My eyes meeting nothing about blues, and whites everywhere. I sucked in a deep breath and gulped down to wet my dry throat and tried to pull my thoughts together.

Last night...

Sinking ship

Swimming out of the opening in deck...

The life boat...

Taehyung and Yoongi hyung getting stuck in the ship...

The cold night at the sea...

I groaned, massaging my throbbing temples and rolled to the side. My eyes immediately opened wide when I felt myself falling. My head hitting cold metal seconds after. I groaned lowly. Sucking in a sharp breath, I steadied myself. Biting my lips when I realized the boat got wobbly because of me. Once the wobbliness stopped and looked at the others. Surprisingly, it seemed as if I was the first one to wake up. Looking outside, I squinted my eyes from the sun's ruthless glare. I shifted my hand to push my body up, but stopped feeling something under my hand. Furrowing my brows in confusion, I looked down and saw a food bar wrapped in foil. I picked it up and assumed it must be from the emergency box.

My cheeks burned a little at the realization that the other's did wake up before me, and must have decided to take a nap once again. And judging form the sun high up in the sky, I guessed it must be late in the afternoon.

I took a bite from the food bar and looked around. Scrunching up my nose when the taste of coconut burst in my mouth. This emergency food tasted better than I expected.

Suddenly, I remembered about the other group of people we met in the ship. I wondered— 'Were they able to get out? Or did they get stuck.'

Nadia was with them as well...

We could've saved her.

I stopped eating the food bar and put it down, wrapping it once again in the foil. Suddenly the taste of the food bar worsen. I felt sick. I didn't know if it was because of the motion of sea or the sudden weight of regret.

We could've saved her...

If only we had been more stubborn and stopped her from going away.

But the again, we weren't sure if we would be able to get out as well.

Her actions were understandable and reasonable, but still...

Suddenly, I felt someone's hand on my right shoulder and turned to see Jin waking up. His face scrunched up as he rubbed his eyes. I shifted to the side a little to let him get up properly. I don't remember him being next to me before I feel asleep last night.
