Planning.
The last two weeks of my life revolved around planning. The stress of the up and coming underground ball was eating me alive. Noah kept telling me there was nothing to worry about but his reassurance didn't stop the anxiety from boiling up in my belly.
The plan was simple enough. Go to the ball, try to have a good night, stay by Noah's side at all times.
Simple.
In Noah's head he was invincible, no one could touch him. Especially not Lorenzo Maxwell.
But I lived in the real world, I was completely aware of the fact that not all plans turn out as expected.
The ball was tonight and I had tallied up a couple scenarios of how tonight could end.
Worse case scenario- Noah get's hurt. Or I do, neither of those options didn't sit well with me. Best case scenario- no one gets hurt and we can come home after the ball and make sweet love until the sun rises tomorrow. That was definitely the option I was hoping for in my head.
The plan was to head out of town to the ball at 7pm. I would ride with Noah, Adam, Rio, Leo and Ryan. The rest of the Blue Water guys would meet us there.
I hoped that with Blue Water there we'd all be okay. The fact of the matter is Blue Water is family. We stick together.
I took my time moisturising my body after coming out of the shower. I wanted to look good tonight. If I looked good then I would have the confidence to match. My gown for the evening was hanging on the back of Noah's wardrobe.
It was a simple yet elegant gown that I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it on a mannequin.
The dress was a deep blue, it had a low neckline and cinched at the waist. My favourite part was the daringly high slit that pushed the dress away from elegant and towards sexy. Noah hadn't seen it yet but I know he'll love it.
I could hear him hustling around downstairs barking orders at the rest of the guys. He can pretend he's not a little nervous but I know he is. He's aware that there was a direct attack planned against him tonight. The thought would put even Ripper on edge.
I fastened my pace with getting ready. Soon enough my makeup was complete and my hair was as tame as I could get it. I looked at myself in the mirror actually impressed with what I saw. I knew this dress was a good choice.
It showed boob and leg. That was enough to get Noah's heart racing, not that I wanted him to be distracted.
"You look beautiful." I jumped slightly as Noah spoke from behind me. I hadn't even heard him come in the room. I watched him through the mirror as he placed his hands on my exposed shoulders.
I held my breath a I basked in the warmth radiating off of him. He leaned down slightly and placed a kiss at the curve of my neck. His eyes didn't leave mine in the mirror as he pulled me closer to his body.
"I'm not too sure if I'm going to be able to concentrate tonight. Not with you looking this good in a room full of murderous men." I knew he was being serious by the possessive look in his eye. His hands roamed all over the exposed part of my upper body. I could feel the goosebumps in that area and I had no doubt that he could see them.
"I'm sure I can handle myself in a room full of murderous men. I've been in that situation many times before." I raised my eyebrow as I turned around to face him.
As usual he looked like a whole treat. He was dressed in a black tux with a crisp white shirt. The tattoo's on this neck were exposed, making him look all the more dangerous.
