To say I was the happiest I've been in a while would be putting it lightly. Ripper was no longer in my life. My moms boyfriend Andrew is keeper, Lorenzo makes me feel like the most special girl in the world and I'm currently sat having a sleepover, eating junk food with my two best friends. My mom was sleeping over at Andrews today so we had my house to ourselves. We all lay across my bed discussing the fact that Cindy had actually brought Ripper to Ryder's party.
"He obviously still has very strong feelings for you if he's hitching a ride to a party with that witch. I mean why would she so proudly showcase your sloppy seconds?" Hailey was right but I was tired of talking about the situation.
"Look she can do whatever she wants with him, she just needs to make sure she doesn't get herself killed." I actually started to feel a little worried for Cindy. Someone as annoying as her wouldn't last a full day with the Blue Water guys.
"If only we were so lucky." Sophia's words may have been harsh but we started to laugh anyway.
I was sat at the end of the bed, painting Hailey's toenails when I realised Sophia had gone a little too quiet all of a sudden.
I looked over at her and she had a worried look on her face. I'm guessing it wasn't from the Cosmo magazine she had in her hand.
"Soph, what's wrong?" My question caught Hailey's attention and she put her phone down.
"Yeah Soph, why so glum?" I had a feeling I knew what Sophia was about to do. I just hope this wasn't about to cause any arguments.
"Hailey, I have something to tell you." I started to bite my nails, waiting for Sophia to carry on. "So I know you really hate it whenever I talk about Jack. And you know I only used to do it so much to annoy you. I mean I had a crush on him. A big one. But recently things have kind of happened and it's not so much a one sided crush anymore."
I watched Hailey's face closely as Sophia continued to speak.
"And I never meant to hurt you at all. It's just Jack and I have gotten really close lately, and I think he really likes me. Wel-Well I know he does. And I'm sorry I didn't tell you. And if you want me to never speak to you or him again I won't. I-i just needed to tell you."
In all my years of knowing Sophia I have never seen her look so nervous as she did in this moment.
I think my heart beat may have actually stopped. Waiting for Hailey to say something felt like a life time. I almost combusted just before a smile finally broke out on Hailey's face. She screamed and jumped on Sophia, locking her in a giant hug.
"I'm so happy for you both"
The confusion on my face mirrored that on Sophia's. "What- are you not angry? Not that I want you to be but I kinda assumed."
I could tell by Hailey's face that she was genuinely happy. It was crazy to think that happiness was due to Jack and Sophia. "Of course I'm happy for you both, I mean it's going to be weird but I knew this was coming."
I had to chime in just there because I was a tad surprised. "How did you know? I was completely shocked."
"Well this ones always always going on about Jack. And Jacks always asking about Sophia, 'what's she up to?', 'who's she dating?', 'whats her favourite Harry Potter movie?', after a while it was just plain obvious. And no fair you told Anna before me."
"Hey if it's any consolation I got it out of her at Ryder's party whilst we were drunk."
"Hmm I suppose that does make it better. Anyway Soph, I want you and Jack to be happy. I've already told him not to break your heart and I'm going to say the same thing to you. That's my big brother. But I'm glad you're together, I don't wanna hear about your sex life and I definitely don't want to HEAR your sex life."
