I sat in diner 99 in front of my untouched strawberry shake and gazed off into the distance.

Adam and Ryan came along which was fine by me as they kept Ripper occupied whilst I avoided any involvement in the conversations they were having.

"Listen, that son of a bitch had it coming he owed me over 10 grand man. I gave him chance after chance and he never listened so it had to be bye bye birdie" Adam bragged about killing some drug dealer turned junkie and Ripper and Ryan laughed as he imitated shooting the guy in the head.

"Right guys, make sure you're all at the warehouse tonight, we've got a massive delivery coming in and you know what that means, money money money." Adam and Ryan smiled at Rippers words and making me roll my eyes.

"Ripper what's wrong with your girl? She looks even more miserable than usual." Ryan said.

"Is it your time of the month love?" he asked trying to be funny, but I didn't even crack a smile instead I conjured the dirtiest look I could and threw it his way.

"Kitten be nice to my guys, my friends are your friends" Ripper said as he gave me a kiss on the cheek. If this were a normal situation and these were my boyfriend's friends I'd honestly be the perfect girlfriend, but it's not and it was the hardest thing for me to just sit here and act fake and pretend I wasn't bothered in their presence.

"Oh I'm sorry that I'm not all that excited to be sitting here chatting with you in my favourite diner Ryan, you know since you helped Noah kill Zack the other night. Do you remember him? The innocent guy that did nothing at all wrong."

Ripper huffed at my words and his hand that was already situated uncomfortably on my thigh squeezed in anger. "Fucking hell, you really just don't listen - I don't want to hear that boys name come out your mouth again or else I promise you kitten I'll kill your Mom and give you a front row seat. I've given you too many chances, Ryan was following orders and that's that. Get that miserable look off your fucking face pronto. Unless you want to go back to mine and have a repeat of this morning all night long."

Ripper's words came at me like a bullet.

I wiped my teary eyes with the back of my jumper and turned my body so I was more present at the table.

I caught Adams eye and he gave me a small smile but I quickly looked away. He may seem nice but they are all as bad as each other.

It didn't matter how much I hated Ripper and his friends, I needed to control what I said when I was with this maniac. I should know by now that he doesn't give empty threats and I would never forgive myself if my Mom was murdered because of me. I needed her here with me.

"Annabella, we're having a party next weekend are you going to be joining us?" Adam asked obviously trying to make this situation less awkward.

"No I'm not sorry. I've got plans for next weekend," a complete lie, but was I hell going to be attending a party hosted by these crazy blue water bitches.

"Cancel whatever plans you have next weekend, you're coming to the party. I can't attend without my girl now can I?" It took every ounce of my self-control to not sigh or roll my eyes at Rippers words.

"Okay I'll be there" I gave him a week smile and turned my attention to my neglected shake.

"You should bring along your two friends that were here with you the other day, the blonde was hot" Adam wiggled his eyebrows at his suggestion.

There was no chance in hell that I would bring my friends to a party full of gang members and murderers.

"No those two aren't invited, they have too much attitude and I don't want them ruining our night." I didn't know whether to be angry at Ripper for how he spoke about my friends or happy that they didn't have to come to the party.
