Despite the nervousness pooling in the depths of my stomach, the ride to the ball managed to put me in good spirits.
The 6 of us rode in a blacked out, tinted limousine. I sat right underneath Noah's arm the whole time whilst the guys helped themselves to champagne talking about what girls they were meeting there.
You would never have thought we were knowingly on our way to a bust.
But that's what I loved about the Blue Water boys, they feared nothing and they were always in a good mood. Months ago when the guys were nice to me I always assumed it was because they didn't want to piss off Noah. I realised they were nice to me because that's the way they were. Blue Water was family.
I refrained from drinking any alcohol in the limo, minus a sip of Noah's champagne. I wanted to be alert tonight, no distractions.
It took around 1 hour to complete the 15 minute journey to the ball. The guys instructed the driver to take the long route so we could enjoy the ride.
Finally we pulled up to a grand looking mansion. The house was huge, the exterior of the building looked like it was pulled straight out of Atlantis. It had huge pillars, a gold painted exterior and vine leaves decorating the front face of the building.
As the limo door opened all of the guys jumped out, brushing themselves off outside. Noah turned to me, stroking his palm across my cheek as he looked at me.
"Last chance baby, are you sure you want to come in? There's no turning back now." I know he wanted me to change my mind and go home but that wasn't going to happen.
"It's us against the world Noah, remember." I leaned over to give him a warm kiss before grabbing my bag, ready to head out.
Noah jumped out first, giving me his hand so I could get out the limo as gracefully as possible.
We followed a path of gold which was painted on the ground. I couldn't help but stare like an imbecile as we walked into the ball room. Everything was decorated exquisitely. The room buzzed with life as we walked past the attendees.
As intimidating as it was being at this event, surrounded by dangerous people, I felt safe as we walked through the hall. Noah walked besides me, his hand on my lower back guiding me. The rest of the Blue Water guys flanked us, power eluded from the men that surrounded me.
Looking around I noticed more and more Blue Water guys stepped into formation with us, letting the whole room know Blue Water had arrived.
Finally we made our way to a grand circle table, the table must be able to seat at least 30 people. Each of the guys found a place at the table leaving room for Noah and I.
I debated sitting down but decided to wait as Noah made no move to sit.
"Baby, I want you to come and meet some people with me if that's okay? Dinner will start soon."
I quickly nodded my head, clutching his hand as he lead me away from the table.
I took in my surroundings noticing there were many tables similar to the one Blue Water sat at. One table occupied people wearing accents of red, another green, another white and the final, purple.
Ah, so the colour co-ordination was a dress code for these kind of events. Let's you know who's with who. Who you can trust. Who you can't.
I felt Noah squeeze my hand as we approached a couple standing at the bar.
The gentleman was large, not as big as Noah but still large. He looked to be on the older side, at least 50. Like all the other people at this event, he looked scary as fuck. He had an intimidating presence and I felt my hands get clammy as we approached them.
