If I close and open my eyes this will all be a dream. Ripper won't really be sitting in Lorenzo's living room. Lorenzo won't really be tied up to a chair. I took a deep breath and slowly opened my eyes.
This wasn't a dream.
"Kitten, what are you doing all the way over there, come and sit down. Join us." This night was sure to be the worst night of my life. I looked to Lorenzo, tears forming in my eyes. This was my fault.
"NOW!" Rippers voice pulled my attention away from Lorenzo and I did exactly as he said. I sat down on the other side of Lorenzo's sofa. Ripper to my right. Lorenzo to my left, tied up like a wild animal.
Silence.
Ripper sat down looking between the both of us, with a smile on his face. His smile alone told me all I needed to know, someone was going to get hurt tonight.
"So you two have been busy lately haven't you? I couldn't believe it when I saw him dropping you off after the party but it all made sense. This old fuck was grooming you and you fell for it didn't you Kitten?" Rippers eyes board into mine waiting for an answer. I didn't want to say the wrong thing to make him even more angry.
"I-I'm sorry." I spoke in barely a whisper but I'm sure they both heard me. Ripper narrowed his eyes at me, full of nothing but hatred. He leaned forwards to press his forehead to mine.
"Sorry isn't going to cut it Annabella. You know what I said I'd do if anyone ever touched you and today you're going to see first hand exactly what happens." He tapped his gun on my temple, the endless pool of tears steaming down my face as his gun made contact to my skin.
"Now I've been thinking about what to do to you both for quite a while." My face paled at Rippers words, I was too chicken to look at Lorenzo. He was in this mess because of me. "We're gonna have a fun evening lady and gent." Ripper stood up and started to snoop around Lorenzo's belongings. He picked up one of his college football medals, looking at it like it was a piece of shit.
"You're a bit of a golden boy aren't you teach?" Lorenzo never answered him, his eyes following every step he took. "Didn't your parents ever tell you it wasn't okay to prey on little girls?" Ripper took his seat next to me again, only this time closer.
"Didn't your parents ever teach you how to act like a human being?" I shot my head over to Lorenzo to make sure he hadn't lost his mind. I tried to plead with him with my eyes. Surely he knows he shouldn't antagonise Ripper. Especially not like this. "I'll let that one slide old man, just because these will be your last moments on earth."
"Now let's play a game, the atmosphere is too tense in here." I looked at Ripper to see if he was joking but he was dead serious. "Let's play truth or dare, if you don't answer you get shot. If you tell a lie, you get shot. So please folks let's keep it honest in here, I'll go first."
"Annabella, truth or dare?" I didn't want to play Rippers stupid game. I took a deep breath and wiped the tears from my eyes. Maybe if I play along he'll let Lorenzo go. Maybe Lorenzo doesn't have to die today.
"T-truth." Ripper sent a small sadistic smile my way. "Good choice, have you had sex with the English teacher?" If the circumstances were different I'd be mortified right now. Speaking about my nonexistent sex life with the guy I like and a guy that's obsessed with me isn't exactly my idea of fun.
"No."
I tried to keep my face as straight as I could so he knew I was telling the truth. "I don't believe you." He grabbed my chin in his hands looking me right in the eye. His eyes were cold, not an ounce of humanity lay in them.
"Noah, I'm telling the truth, we haven't done anything like that." He stared me down a little longer until he was satisfied I wasn't lying. He placed a quick kiss on my mouth and moved back to relax into the sofa.
