I quickly fluffed my hair giving it some last minute volume. Licking my lips to give them some moisture before knocking on the door.
A 6ft something guard opened the door for me. My eyes frantically searched the large room before landing on Noah sat at a table.
The first thing I noticed was that his arms were hand cuffed down to the table. He wore an orange jumpsuit which unsurprisingly suited him well.
My feet were stuck in place as we eyed each other longingly. Before I could decide to make a move Noah's eyes flickered towards the warden. I turned around in time to see him peeling his eyes away from my ass.
I heard a nervous cough sound behind me before the warden made a move to exit the room.
"Are you forgetting something Billy?" Noah asked, process of elimination he was talking to the warden. He quickly made his way over to Noah, unlocking his cuffs and making a hasty exit to the door.
Focusing my attention back to Noah I hardly flinched when I saw he was standing right in front of me.
I gazed up at him, his eyes reeling me in. All the emotions from the past few days came to the surface before tears slowly ran down my face.
The soft touch of Noah's thumb wiped away my tears. I embraced him tightly, inhaling his natural scent that I'd grown to love.
After a minutes embrace he pulled away from me, leading us to the table he was sat at before. I sat next to him, having another quick look around the room before looking back to Noah.
The room was... cozy.
It had a bed, a TV on the wall, a makeshift kitchen and small dining area which we were sat at. The room didn't look at all like any prison cell I'd imagined. This looked like a small budget hotel. Perfect for a short stay. When my eyes met Noah's again after observing the room I knew this was anything but that, anything but a short stay.
"Why are you here Noah? Why are you in this room? I thought you had connections? You shouldn't be in this mess!" I grabbed Noah's hand entwining our fingers, the action giving me comfort.
"Baby I'm sorry, I didn't want you to see me like this." A half smile made it's way to Noah's face. His free hand running through my hair as we sat closely together.
"Just please explain to me what's going on. When are you getting out of here?" I pleaded, my eyes once again glossing over with unshed tears.
Noah let out a breath, picking me up and placing me on his lap.
"There's a lot of shit that went down that night. FBI stormed my office and all the files Maxwell had put together were out for prying eyes. I got to the station and they were throwing all kinds of accusations around, all kinds of figures, details of my bank accounts, my warehouses, all of it."
I could feel my heart beating out of my chest as Noah spoke. I couldn't look away from him as I tried to gauge where this was going. There was confliction behind his eyes, but most of all longing as he looked at me.
"I refused to talk to them for a few days whilst the guys were in contact with Adams cousin in the FBI. Like I said baby, I have connections." He smiled down at me, rubbing his hands softly up my back.
"Soooo if you have connections does that mean you're leaving with me today?" I asked hopefully.
Noah chuckled lightly, shaking his head as he thought of what to say.
"No baby, I don't get to leave just yet."
I almost let out a strangled scream at his answer. "Okay then when? Just tell me because I'm sick and tired of being in the dark Noah." I said, my tone sharp.
