Back at the Malfoy Manor, there was a very important conversation going on.

"It's time to get rid of it, Narcissa. He's gone by now," said the serious voice of Lucius Malfoy.

His wife nodded in agreement.

"Just be careful, you remember what he said about its powers," she added.

Of course Draco heard most of this, as he was listening from the stairwell, but he wasn't too concerned. His father was just holding a black leather journal, it couldn't be that dangerous.

Oh how wrong the family was.

However, Draco wasn't the only one who knew about the conversation between his parents.

Naturally, Dobby, their house elf, heard it too. This wasn't unusual for house elves- they seemed to know everything because they always wandered around the houses of their master while cleaning.

However, Dobby was often punished for interrupting these conversations, especially by Lucius.

On the other hand, over the years, Dobby got along quite well with his son since Draco had no one else to talk to.

But unfortunately for the Malfoys, Dobby couldn't be trusted as much as they thought he could be.

There was absolutely nothing that could stop him from warning Harry Potter about the dangers waiting at Hogwarts. In fact, he did just that the very evening.

Although Dobby tried his very best, including by stealing Harry's letters, there was no convincing him not to return to Hogwarts.

So, just like Malfoy and Ed, Harry set off for Diagon Alley. Or, perhaps, knockturn alley. He had accidentally traveled there through Floo Powder, and happened to end up in the same shop as Draco and his father.

But they didn't know he was there, of course, because he was hiding in a cabinet.

"Don't touch, Draco," Lucius demanded when Draco reached towards a glass eye.

"But you said you would buy me a present," he said back.

"I said a racing broom," Lucius clarified.

"What's the good of that, I don't even know if I'll be on the team yet."

"Potter got a Nimbus Two Thousand last year, he got special permission. But he only played because of his stupid scar... everyone thinks he's so wonderful... Harry Potter," Draco mocked.

"You've told me this at least a dozen times already," Lucius said, annoyed.

"Must I have to remind you that it is not wise to go around insulting him," he warned.

Draco stopped talking, he knew his father was referring to the situation with the Dark Lord.

Just then, Mr. Borgin, an old and short shop owner, seemed to appear out of nowhere in the store.

"Mr. Malfoy, a pleasure to see you, and your son," he greeted them.

"How may I help you? I must say, I have some valuable items that just came in today-" Mr. Borgin continued.

"Actually, I am more interested in selling," Lucius interrupted.

"I'm sure you have heard of the raids instructed by the Ministry, and I may have some items that... would be better off not seen," he explained as he showed Mr. Borgin a piece of parchment.

Draco soon become less and less interested in the conversation his father was having, and more interested in all the mysterious objects within the shop. He especially noticed a mummy-looking hand placed on a cushion.
