"Come on, Mal! We're already 10 minutes late," Ed urged her friend.
"Ok! I'm coming, I'm coming," Malorie said as she rushed out of the dormitory.
Before they even walked into the main part of the Slytherin common room, they could
hear music blaring and people celebrating.During dinner, the Quidditch team decided to celebrate their victory over Gryffindor, even if it wasn't a close match at all.
"Look who's here!" Malfoy shouted as the two friends walked in.
"Hey, it's Ed!" Others from the team chimed in.
"Hey guys!" She responded.
Ed also gave Draco a smile as she made her way over to him, while Malorie walked over to Montague.
But before Ed could reach him, she was stopped by someone else.
"You did great today," Pucey complimented.
"Thanks, you did good too," she said in a friendly way.
He shrugged.
"I could've done better," he said genuinely.
"She's mine Pucey. I thought I made that clear," Malfoy interrupted.
Pucey immediately stepped away.
"Draco, it's fine, we were just talking about the match," Ed explained.
But deep down, she loved how protective he was.
"I know damn well that's not what he wanted to talk about. He's had his eye on you ever since the Yule Ball last year."
"Come on, let's get something to eat," he said as he led her to a table filled with food.
"How did you know I was hungry?" She asked.
He just smiled in response.
He knew that she had rushed eating dinner to see him in the Hospital Wing, but didn't want to confess that.
Ed took a quick glance at all of the food and decided to take some fruit.
There were all red apples, except for one green one.
She smiled to herself and thought of Draco, taking the last green apple without hesitation.
A little while later, after refusing to dance, Ed joined Malorie in the middle of the room where everyone was dancing.
They were having a great time, laughing and shouting the lyrics to every song.
Ed was lost in the music, until she felt someone grab her arm from behind.
She could smell his masculine cologne before she even saw who it was.
"Hi, Draco," she smiled as he spun her to face him.
"Hi, darling," he smiled back as he snaked his hands around her waist.
The music seemed to be lost in the crowd now.
All Ed could focus on was how close her body was to Draco's.
So close, that she thought she could hear his heartbeat over the blaring rap music.
When the beat dropped, she moved her hips in rhythm with his hands, swaying to the music together.
And right in that moment, they realized that nothing else mattered but being there with each other.
_______________
A few days later, Ed was walking to the Great Hall when she saw something gold and shiny on the ground.
