The students eventually got back from Christmas break, but this didn't stop the teachers from giving them loads of homework.

Because of this, Ed spent even more time in the library than usual.

She also recognized Hermione doing this, and luckily enough, for Ed, she wasn't with Harry or Ron.

"Hey, Hermione!" She said excitedly.

But Hermione quickly turned away and pretended she didn't hear her.

"What was going on?" Ed wondered.

So, she got up and followed Hermione, but decided to stay a good distance behind her.

"Nicholas Flamel," she heard Hermione mutter.

Ed wondered who she was talking about, but decided to leave her alone and figured she was just too busy at the moment to talk.

If only she knew what Hermione was really up to...

One evening, while eating dinner, Malfoy brought up a theory he had relating to the trio.

"You won't believe what I heard Potter talking about earlier today!" On cue, a bunch of first years leaned in to listen to what he had to say.

"From what I heard, I think he has a dragon!"

"A dragon?!" Malorie and Lance yelled simultaneously.

"But those aren't allowed-" Crabbe started.

"Of course they're not allowed, Crabbe," Malfoy interrupted.

"You better tell a teacher," Ed recommended.

"Don't worry, I will," he stated.

He was determined to get Potter in trouble, even if it was the last thing he did.

That night, at midnight more specifically, Malfoy snuck out of the common room and made his way to the astronomy tower, where he knew the trio would be.

However, just as he was about to follow them up the stairs, Professor McGonagall came out of nowhere and started yelling at him.

"Twenty points from Slytherin! How dare you, wandering around in the middle of the night-" she shouted angrily.

"Professor, you don't understand," Malfoy interrupted.

"Harry Potter's got a dragon!" He protested.

"What rubbish! How dare you tell such a lie!" she said furiously.

She brought him down to her office, and was going to alert Professor Snape about Malfoy's misbehavior until Filch had entered Professor McGonagall's office with Granger, Potter, and Longbottom behind him.

"I'm disgusted! Four students out of bed in one night, I've never heard of such a thing before! Fifty points from Gryffindor." she shouted.

"Fifty?!" Harry said in disbelief.

Malfoy was very satisfied at this and smiled.

"Each," Professor McGonagall clarified.

"All four of you will receive detention," she added.

Malfoy was confused, what did he do wrong?

"Excuse me, Professor, perhaps I heard you wrong. I thought you said the four of us," he questioned.
