26. Maya's Birthday

"Hello?" Manish pressed his mobile to his ear.

"Yes? Who's this?" Avni frowned at the caller while glancing at Parth, who has handed her phone to her as it kept ringing.

"Oh, Ms. Avni, you have forgotten me? Like it's too early." Manish scoffed. Avni rolled her eyes at him as she put the call on speaker.

"Mr. Jai Singh?" She questioned. Manish chuckled nodding his head.

"Yes. Manish Jai Singh. So, you remember me?" He snorted. Avni shook her head.

"Of course, Yes. I won't forget people who are connected to me." She fisted her right hand, boiling in anger.

"That's so good of you." Manish feigned a smile while talking to Avni. Just then, Maya came and seated beside him on the couch of their living room.

"You have some work with me?" Avni cane straight to the point as she can't bear the buttering session Manish is going to do.

"You're blunt. But, never mind. And the thing is, I don't know if you know if not, but, as it's my responsibility, I should take care of the guests, I'm here today." Manish said while smiling at Maya.

"Actually, tomorrow is Maya's birthday and I want her close friends to be there with her as there's something big gonna happen in her life. I mean, she wants to commence something new." Avni frowned at his words.

Nevertheless, she didn't miss the chance from the start. So, she did the same now.

"Of course, Mr.Jai Singh." Avni smiled wide which spread on Manish's face.

"How can I not come after you inviting us? I'll be there." Manish gave a thumbs-up to Maya who smiled wide at Avni's words.

"Ok, Bye. Take care." Manish said before hanging the call resulting in Avni toll her eyes at him.

"Since when Manish Jai Singh is concerned about others other than himself?" Parth scoffed.

Avni glanced at him before moving to the dining table.

"I don't know!" Avni sighed, rolling her eyes. "You're also coming na?" She asked, snapping her head at him.

"Of course," Parth said as it is obvious.

Having their dinner in silence, they kept mum with thoughts running at a wind speed.

Breaking their trance, Avni's phone rang with the name of the most unexpected person. Pulling a face, Parth pushed her mobile towards Avni, who's shaking her head, not wanting to talk to him.

"Bittu..." Avni whined, shooking her head left to right.

"Let's get to know why is he calling, na, Ayu!" Parth pointed. Sighing, she reverted the call.

"Hi, Avni!" Neil exclaimed as soon as Avni picked the call. Avni moved her phone away from her ear at his scream.

Cursing him under her breath, she put the call on speaker. Parth chuckled at the scenario.

"Hi, Neil," Avni said while leaning on the table.

"Hey, so I'm assuming that you were invited," Neil said while making himself comfortable on his bed. 

Avni rolled her eyes with her lips twitched aside in a disapproving look. 

"If you're asking about Maya's birthday party, then yes. We are invited." Neil frowned.

"We?" He questioned. Parth let out a chuckle so did Avni to cover up his chuckle. 

"Yeah. I and Parth." Avni said as a matter of factly, which clearly is not, for Neil.
