"Where's this Parth? Why isn't he picking his calls?" Neil talked to himself as he reached near the hospital. After another failed attempt to that phone call, he reached the hospital to come across Parth's car parked before the small clinic.
Shooking his head, he slammed the door shit, striding towards the entrance. Calling Parth's number again, he's to cut the call at last as his call went unanswered.
There's no guard at the entrance to stop Neil at the night at 11:30 PM. He reached at the speed that he reached before the shown time.
Glancing around, he came across a girl trying hard to keep her eyes open while those pretty eyes of hers are not taking the name of obeying her.
Striding towards the front desk, taking long steps, Neil ran his fingers in his messy curls.
"Excuse me?" He called her, knocking his fingers on the table while the girl jerked up with a small but audible shriek resulting in Neil jumping in fear.
"Relax..." He calmed her who's got panicked seeing a midnight intruder.
"Who... Who are you?" She asked with a hand on her heart while he smiled at the sight. Shooking his head, he realized what he came here for!
"Um, I want to visit a patient name Avni!" Neil asked her doubtfully while the girl corrected her glasses before glancing at him and the computer ahead of her.
"She's in the emergency room." Neil's heart skipped a beat as his brain trying to process the new information. The girl he started to love, was met with an accident, which broke his heart. Trying to control the rapid beats of his heart, with his shivering palm, he placed it on his heart, trying to calm himself down.
"Whe... Where's the emergency room?" He stumbled on his words, as he choked on his saliva while trying to gulp down the truth.
"That way, straight and corner room to the left!" She said while Neil ran that way, rubbing his eyes, shedding tears.
His blurry eyes caught a sight of a lean silhouette leaving the room he has to step in. Squinting his eyes, he tried to look proper but the tears making his view blurry and as he was halfway through his destination, the dimly litted area revealed him that the person was wearing a doctor apron, and before Neil call him, the silhouette left the place, leaving him all confused behind as his pace fastened.
Panting at his running self, he stepped into the dimly lit hospital room, which invited him with the same smell as every hospital does. Blocking his nose with his handkerchief, he strode towards the bed not making any noise which might disturb a sound asleep Avni, with a bandage on her forehead and casts on her right arm and left leg.
Caressing her forehead, with a smile on his lips and tears in his eyes, he bent down to peck her forehead but he realized that Avni is moving a little bit in sleep and there are high chances that she could wake up if his lips touch her tender skin. Refraining himself from doing that, Neil held himself back as a wave of relief washed over him.
Seconds after it, Neil's tired face adorned a scowl as something flashed before him. If Avni was sleeping, then what's there for the doctor to check her? He thought as his eyes searched for any tubes plucked inside Avni's body, for any glucose bottle, but there were none.
Glancing at Avni for once, Neil made his way back to the reception while saw the girl in the same position as he left her. Shooking his head, he called her and she again jerked up, sat upright in her chair.
"Uh, Yes?" She said, after yawning.
"Where's the guy who admitted her?" Neil asked while searching his surroundings for the tall figure.
