Before Neil cuts the cake, which was specially made only for him, by his LOVE, His phone vibrated and flashed the screen with the name AVNI. Taking the call, he excused himself from the place resulting in Maya's frown.
"Hello, Avni?" "Happy Birthday Neil" These are the only words that came from the other side.
"Avni, you know it's my birthday today?" He questioned puzzled while she smirked on the other side staring at the picture of him which is displaying on the laptop which is kept in front of her.
"Of course, I do Neil. I wanted to call you in the night itself but thought what if you were asleep? Which is why I called you now."
"Thank you Avni, that's really sweet of you. But how do you..." She cut his sentence in the middle "You're such a question bank, Neil, see you in the office." She hung the call without listening to him.
Smiling, he turned around to witness his Girlfriend glaring at him with her not so big eyes. Raising his brows, he asked "What?" To which he received a smack on his shoulder.
"Ouch... Maya, don't hit me at least today! It's my birthday dude." Tugging his wrist, she pulled him to the table where the cake kept while he made a confused face.
"Never ever do this okay! You were about to cut the cake, but left just for the call, which means ignoring me for others?" She completed her question while he smiled and hugged her.
"My Maya Darling! How can I ignore you? It was Avni's call which is why I had to pick it up. I thought there would be something important to discuss with me, but no! She just wished me Happy Birthday and that's all. So sweet no! And, I wonder how come she knows my Birthday?"
"Oh come on Neil, that's not a big deal. She would have checked the details of you right! Then no worries, now come on, cut it!"
Entering into the office hand in hand, Maya and Neil moved to their respective cabins as they don't want the delay in work, Not Today at least, cause if Avni would come and see them killing the time, she would strangle them for sure. Thinking about Avni, a smile crept on his lips, while his trance broke when he heard a knock on the door.
"Come in" Concentrating on the laptop, he didn't glance up at the entity standing in front of him with a wide smirk which formed into a smile when he shot his head up.
"Avni, You? I thought that's my PA! You need not knock on the door before entering yaar!"
"But the rule is rule and rule for all, right!" She shrugged.
"Ya, but not for the boss. And moreover, you're a friend also! So no rules for you!"
"Is it?" Smiling he neared her while she picked something from her handbag.
"This is for you" Avni handed him a small gift box, while he looked puzzled.
"Avni, it's ok! Why did you..." She cut his sentence in middle. "You just said that I'm your friend right! So, this for my New Friend. Come on, open it!" Saying, she moved towards the couch and asked him to come near.
Opening the wrapper carefully, he witnessed something he never thought would someone gift him that. It a bracelet embedded with rudrakshas, the one which he loves to the core. Plastering a wide smile that reached his eyes he hugged her in excitement muttering n-no. Thank Yous.
Avni was taken aback by the sudden hug. She's not expecting this from him. Placing her arms around his, she hugged him back. Probably this is the first time and Neil is the first man other than her father and Parth, and him, she is hugging after a long time.
Parting he again muttered a Thank you while taking the bracelet into his hands adoring it like a precious thing. Indeed it is precious for him cause someone special gifted him that on his 12th birthday. But he lost it when he was in college and was searching for it for years. And now, here, this girl, whom he just met yesterday, surprised him in a way that he loves the most.
"This was awesome! Thank you so much, Avni" "How many times will you say this now?" She asked him while he smiled "No matter how many times I say, it'll fall short. I loved it. You know I wanted this for years and was searching for something like this but to my bad luck, I get none! Guess what, here you gifted me this! Now you really became something special to me" Her lips curved up while he hugged her again this time more tightly.
They pulled back hearing someone. It's Maya, who came without knocking on the door and got to see her boss and boyfriend hugging tight. She shrugged the feeling off and smiled at Avni who reciprocated with the same smile.
"Maya, see the Bracelet I was searching for!" Neil exclaimed showing her the thing while she genuinely smiled seeing that, cause she know Neil would be really happy seeing that as he was searching for that since don't know when?
"It's so beautiful!" Maya said touching that.
"I know right! Avni gifted me this. Really Avni, this is the best birthday gift" Neil said to Avni who is now standing beside him.
"You know Avni? For every birthday of Neil's, I used to search for this but I don't get it. And for this birthday, I didn't even try cause I know I don't get it, but how come you got that? And from where?"
"Well, I got this a week back. It was a unique piece and was designed by me! I ordered it which is why you didn't get it easier!" Avni shrugged while saying.
"Ohh..." These are the only words left from Neil and Maya's lips.
"Anyways, Thank you so much Avni, for gifting this to him, cause Neil's friend gifted him this on his 12th birthday but he lost that when we were in college. He was so sad at that time cause that was the only thing which reminds us of her." Maya's face became pale.
"Means, she's no more?" Avni asked knowing the answer. "Maya please, leave this topic!" Before Maya could answer, Neil said and left the place.
Introducing Avni as the new boss, Maya left the place after taking Avni to her cabin. Taking a seat, Avni was lost in her own thoughts.
"Neil remembers me!" He lost the bracelet she gave him on his birthday and he was still searching for that model. "Really? By this one thing, you have proved yourself that you didn't even change a bit and you're still the same, MY TILLU... And I AM STILL YOUR SOMEONE SPECIAL...Thanks, Neil, This made my day. But your Love cant changes or smash my Hatred, Neil. "Sorry, but, you will also burn to ashes in my Hatred!"
