9. Neil Khanna

The next day, Avni was curious to go to the office. She wants to witness 'The Neil Khanna' fell in her trap or not, and also to see his techniques to pamper her. She wants him to be her puppet until she succeeds fully in destroying them. She doesn't want him to be the wisest of all and protect his family from her. 

Cause Avni knows that he's a softie at heart and easy to trap in love. If she kept him busy with her love, then there would be no time for him to know about all the things going on in his Family. But she has to remove Maya from his back. She's damn too smart to let go of the signs coming in front which destroys their Company, Property, and FAMILY. She has to make Neil go crazy for her that he has to let go of Maya eventually and shouldn't believe even the slightest truth she says. For that, Neil Khanna should be transformed into a Majnu of the Modern Era.

Avni laughed at the thought and opened her cabin door to witness it decorated with balloons and Sorry cards. Her lips twitched to a side as a wide smirk appeared on her face. "Ahem Ahem," A familiar persona stood behind her and coughed a fake one to gain her attention. Hiding her smirk, Avni wore a frown on her face as she turned behind and faced the entity standing in front of her with his charming smile, hands folded.

"So?" Neil asked expectantly as he saw her turning to face him. "So?" She repeated after him making him go all confused at once. 

"I'm Sorry yaar, Avni," Neil said gesturing her to look at the sorry card behind her seat. "I've already told you no, I'm not going to forgive you no matter what!" Avni replied folding her hands against her chest. 

"But, don't you remember I also told you that no matter what I'll gain your forgiveness. No problem, this is just the beginning, I understand. You're a tough nut to crack. But you should give me a chance Avni. I'm your friend after all and you're. . . you're my someone special as I said. Please" Neil said with his fingers on both ears and head bowed down. Avni smiled at him and replied 

"Okay, fine! You'll just have an hour after office hours, that is, 6 to 7 PM. Not a minute more Mr.Khanna" Avni slammed her cabin door not giving a glance at the poor guy who still has his head bowed down at her. 

"Arrogant much! But cute." Neil whispered to himself with a small smile on his lips, while someone poked his arm with a pen. "Ouch!" He hissed in pain and turned at the person who dared to poke him but composed himself when he saw Maya: His Girlfriend. 

"What are you doing here?" She furrowed her brows at him while he nodded his head left to right sheepishly, which made her frown deepen. "Nothing Maya! Sacchi."

He said pinching his throat which made her smile. "Okay. Go to your cabin now and yeah, we'll go somewhere after office. It's been so long since we hang out. No!" 

Neil's face lost all its colors at the mention of the evening. Now, he has to ditch one of them and he couldn't afford to ditch Avni. She gave him a chance and he has to prove himself to her. Lost in his thoughts, he decided to say something to Maya before she confirms the day out. Maya who stood there still observing him lost in thoughts at the mention of a hangout. At last, she nudged his shoulder and brought him back to the earth. 

"What? Where are you lost?" Maya asked while Neil shook his head-scratching his slight stubble. "Maya actually, I've to meet someone this evening. So, maybe tomorrow?" Neil asked with a tad bit of fear where his girlfriend catches his lie. 

"Ohh!" Maya's face lost its brightness as she heard him. "It's okay! We'll go out tomorrow." Maya said with a smile that lightened up Neil's face. All the while both of them were talking, standing outside of Avni's cabin who heard all of that standing behind the closed door. A smirk etched on her lips as she strode towards her seat. 

So? You guys are gonna spend some time tomorrow! Well good for you but I'm an uninvited guest in your lives. I should be there no! Avni smirked as she thought about both of them.

Evening 5:55 PM

Neil and Avni left their office and are now heading to some unknown place as Neil pleaded with her to let him give a surprise. She rolled her eyes at him and let him take her wherever he wants. All she wants is to keep him busy with her for a few days. 

Climate is a tad bit different today, as in, Differently Beautiful. The hot sun is getting ready to bid adios and the birds are returning to their homes. Avni felt something stir inside her tracking in the view. When will she reach her home after all this chaos? Sighing at the thought, she glanced sideways to look at Neil who's humming a song playing on the radio. A small smile etched on her lips as her memory took her back to a reverie of small Neil, Singing songs and dancing carefreely to make her laugh. He was her best friend back then and now? Maybe, she's his worst enemy. She doesn't deserve his friendship or love. But she neither deserves all those things she went through as a child. Avni didn't realize that a drop of tear made its way to her cheeks until it fell on the top of her hand. Wiping it, she looked at Neil who's still driving and humming another song. 

"It's already 06:04, Neil. When will we reach?" Avni asked him as an inpatient kid while Neil chuckled and pulled the car sideways. Avni's face boomed with confusion while Neil gestured her to look ahead. What she saw after made her mouth shut. 

They were on a cliff and the Sun-Set is looking even more beautiful from here. How does he know that she loves Sun-Set? Or was it just a normal surprise? Getting off the car, Avni moved towards the edge of the cliff, surrounded by fencing. She stood there not uttering a word until the Sun disappeared from there to his home. She turned around to find Neil on his Knees, with a sorry card in his hands. As he started to speak, Avni moved towards him. 

"I' really very Sorry, Avni. I know A sorry will not do, but I promise that I will make it up to you. I'll be there whenever and wherever you need me. I'll be just a call away. I know I was stupid to do that to you but I was not in my senses that day and I know I was, am stupid that I almost lost a friend like you. Avni, you don't know how much special you mean to me after you gifted me this." 

He said as he gestured to the bracelet to her. "This is so special to my heart and so are you, Avni. Please don't push me aside. I'll cherish every damn minute with you cause you remind me of someone. And I promise that I'll never come near you again. I promise I'll be a good comrade! Please accept my apology no!" Neil finished with a puppy face which melted Ayesha, not Avni. Composing herself a bit, she gestured him to stand in place and when he did, she took the Sorry card from him and smiled at him. 

"You forgave me?" Neil asked not surely while Avni nodded at him approvingly. He squealed in joy. "Thank you Avni, Thank you so much!" Neil screamed as he gave flying kisses to her which made Avni laugh at the end. 

Little did he know that her Smile is so Venomous and she could be Vicious at the time.
