10. Maya Jai Singh

"You lied to me?" Maya muttered under her breath as she saw Neil, knelt down in front of Avni. She didn't hear any of the things he said but got confused after seeing the sorry card. Her mind refused to go beyond the thing that he lied to her, for Avni; who just met him a week ago. Her blood-red eyes held pain and tears as she left the cliff in her car. 

A teardrop fell from her orb, unknown to her while Maya rubbed it off, roughly. Her face became red, as she tried hard not to cry. For others, it's not a thing to cry or get angry at. But this is not any other girl. This is Maya Jai Singh, who's obsessed with her Love; Neil Khanna. She can't bear seeing him with others and that's the truth. All these years, she was feared about someone or the other near Neil. The fear soon faded when Neil proposed to her, She thought. But, No, that's fear is never gonna fade. It surrounded her mingled in the thick Air. 

                                                              Nobody ever dared to try Neil after Maya thrashed a girl - who worked in their office, and threatened to kill her. She fired that girl the very next minute she saw her ogling at Neil and slapped her left and right in the cabin. There on, nobody comes near Neil until and unless it was important. Every time, a new girl enters their office, the first caution they get from others is "Don't eye Neil Khanna!" 

Maya snapped out of her thoughts when she felt the halting of the vehicle. That's when she realized that they are back home. Slamming the car door shut, Maya ran into the house and ran up to her room not paying attention to the screams behind by her Mom. Bolting her room door, Maya slide down the door, sobbing. 

"What the hell is happening?" Maya screamed and got up as she stood in front of the mirror. Messy hair, tears rolling down her cheeks, she felt the person reflecting in the mirror is alien to her. She never felt like losing him to others. 

This is the first time and she can't do anything to Avni as she being her Boss. But Love is the top priority! She can't see some new chick hanging around her man trying to woo him. Avni is nothing but another seductress in Maya's eyes as she feels Avni tried to snatch him for her. What's mine is mine forever! And I can cross any extent to take what's mine, Avni! Be it by crook or by hook. Maya whispered and looked at the new person in the mirror staring right back at her. Wiping those tears, Maya left her house, again paying a deaf ear to her mother's questions.

Driving the car to Neil's Apartment, she entered it with the help of a spare key. Locking the door behind, Maya marched towards his bedroom and directly to the study table. Taking out a Diary from the draw, she sat on the bed, searching for recent entries in it. She saw the one from a week back and saw Avni's name in it! As she read it, she understood that belongs to the day when Avni signed the papers. As she kept flipping the pages, there's one on Neil's Birthday, which mentioned Shucks on the Title space. Maya started to read it as her eyes caught Avni's name.

I can't believe it that Avni gifted me this Bracelet yaar! I mean, how can she? Maya's trying to gift me this since past few years, but she couldn't as the design of this bracelet was antique and we've no picture of this to show them. And nobody can describe this design as it is like Ayesha can! My Ayesha! I just saw you, Ayesha, in Avni, today. And to my wonder, I really felt you in her. Why did you leave me, Ayesha? Why so early? Anyway, I've invited her to the party and she told me that Maya already invited her. Strange isn't it? Maya invited a girl to meet me? Maybe because, Avni gifted me this, which makes me happy, right! That's what I think so, cause there's no other reason for Maya Jai Singh - the possessive will do this. 

As Maya flipped the next page, she saw the Title space written as Kiss! A frown formed on her face as she wasted no time and started to read it out.
