"There's no need for you to come all the way to pick a guest up to your Fiance's Birthday Party, I think, Mr. Neil Khanna!" Avni glared at Neil as she talked to Neil with her hands folded in front of her.

Neil who's still standing at the entrance of Avni's Apartment door, shrugged his shoulders not knowing how to Justify his travel.

"Avni, are you ready?" Neil asked while glancing head to toe.

"You're concerned about that?" Avni said sternly while Neil shook his head immediately.

"Anyways, did I ask you to come over and pick me up? I know how to drive so I need not anybody to guard me." Avni said without missing a beat and walked away, flaunting her black dress, which reached her knees.

Inviting himself inside, Neil closed the door behind him without making any noise. Avni turned around to have a look at him who sat on the couch in the living room without her knowledge. Avni rolled her eyes at him while shooting her head and disappeared into her room and came back after a few seconds with a sequin black sling bag on her shoulder.

Neil shot his head up at the click sound of her heels and could do nothing but smile at her though his mind is leaping bounds with joy.

"Let's go?" He asked while Avni sighed but nodded her head.

Locking the door behind,  she walked ahead of Neil who's walking at a slow pace. Both of them stepped into the elevator. Neil was nervous at the sense of she's beside him. In the same black dress when he kissed her on his birthday. Before any other thought stuck him, they reached the parking lot and Avni shuffled through her bag for her car keys.

Neil who's observing her didn't understand what she's searching for. Maybe her phone? He thought and that's when Avni took her jiggling car keys out of her bag. Neil frowned at the keys and Avni who moved ahead as if there is no one in front of her, frowning at her.

"Avni..." Neil jogged ahead as he called her. Avni didn't pay any heed to him and keep walking.

"Avni, yaar!" Neil caught Avni's hand and pulled her towards him with a certain amount of distance. The sudden pull made Avni come close to Neil who didn't want that at the moment.

"Avni..." "Let me go!" Avni took her hand back with her eyes shooting daggers at Neil.

Neil gulped a lump in his throat before taking a step backward.

"Avni, we can go in my car, right," Neil asked. Avni shook her head.

"I'm not gonna come in your car!" She said and started to walk towards her car. Neil ran behind her.

"Then, take me with you. I'll come in your car." Avni unlocked her car and opened the door to sit.

"I won't let strangers enter my car." She scoffed and sat inside. Slamming her door shut, Avni zoomed off from the place leaving a gaping Neil behind.

"How can she... Huh... I was here for her and she left me all alone. How dare, Aahhh... I can't stand this much arrogance, be it from the girl I love, who never paid any heed to me. I'll show her what I'm capable of now!" Neil scoffed with his anger bubbling inside.

"Happy Birthday, Maya!" Avni smiled genuinely as something from years back found some space in her mind.

Maya frowned at Avni who's smiling genuinely at her with a bouquet forwarded towards her. Anyways, to cover up, Maya smiled in return.

"Thank you so much, Avni. I'm so happy that you could make it." Maya exclaimed thinking about her next move.
