Normal POV

My heart was beating like crazy. I really cannot believe what just happened. Kuroo Tetsurou just saved my life... no one has ever done that for me before, not even my parents. Much less an acquaintance. And he got hurt because of me, ah, I feel so bad. The feeling of just breaking down right there and then was so strong but I kept myself together.

After Kuroo had fixed my hair, I thanked him again. But I knew my thanks would never be enough; I'm indebted to him for life. "So what were you doing, rushing off so frantically?" Kuroo asked about the elephant in the room. "Oh, I- I thought I saw a childhood friend of mine... and he was actually meant to be terribly ill, so I guess I just wanted to see him again," I made up the worst lie ever and prayed the both of them would buy it.

"Must be a really important friend to cross the road without looking for oncoming traffic," Kuroo fidgeted with his bandages, expression blank. I glanced over at Kenma, who wore the same expression. I bit my lips - there's no lying to these two. They know something is up and they're going to expose me-

"Well, I hope you can meet this childhood friend of yours. So then I can tell him you risked your life for him," Kuroo crossed his arms and said it in a sadistic way. Huh? They're not digging into it? I was flabbergasted. Kenma just nodded his head at the side. "Will you have any trouble going back home? We can still walk you back," Kuroo offered. "No, please. I've caused enough trouble today. Please get home safely," I bowed again. The two smiled at me and we made our separate ways.

The next morning, I was in class as usual and my phone chimed. Glancing down under my desk and checking my phone. An incoming text from my team leader, "take the day off. We're having a meeting." What? How? As if answering my questions, the school public announcer crackled on, "Kageyama Amber of year one class three, please report to the principal's office. Kageyama Amber of year one, class three, please report to the principal's office."

Well, this was slightly embarrassing. I quickly packed up my bag and awkwardly made my way out from the classroom, away from the intense stares and whispers.

I knocked on the principal's door and introduced myself. The principal was there, as well as my team leader, Kasun-san. "Take a seat, Ms Kageyama." The principal gestured to the plush seats in front of his desk, beside Kasun-san. "Kageyama, it is seen from your report yesterday night that there had been an incident? Is it possible for you to pinpoint this student?" Kasun-san started straight to the point.

"Yes, unfortunately, last night was a little foggy. I wasn't able to get a clear view of the student's face. But, today morning, I was able to confirm who this student is. I recognized his bike and I waited for him to park it in this morning. He's Futashiki Leon from third-year class five." I brought the two figures up to date.

Heavy silence dawned. "Did I do something wrong? I know I wasn't supposed to pursue the ones under suspicion and I know that I overstepped the line. I'm ready for the punishment," I told Kasun-san. "You did go over what you were told to do, but it gave us a huge breakthrough. Sadly, I'm afraid that your actions yesterday have been seen. The situation on my side had changed since last night and suppliers had stopped moving out. I think that Futashiki Leon could have reported that he may have been followed. It can be safe to say he didn't know who followed him since you would already be dead if that's the case," Kasun-san explained the situation.

"I will need you to maintain an even lower cover after today. I highly doubt that there would be any incidents going on in the gardening club today," Kasun-san patted me on my shoulder and reassured me. I nodded my head in response.

"Well, for you, Mr Hoshiki, I would need to trouble you to run through the staff again to see if there are any new suspicious activities. It's highly possible we're dealing with two adults and one student in this school. We already know Mr Deki is involved heavily, we'll continue to scout for the other one," Kasun-san further instructed the principal of Nekoma Highschool. Mr Deki huh, the one that always locks up the gardening club farm. "Noted, I'll let you know again Kasun-san. Thank you for your help as always," the two shook hands and we made our way out of school.
