Normal POV

Everyone started to crowd around me now. I wanted to shout and tell them to back off but I made this choice. It was either this or lose the perfect scouting spot. "Did you call the out in the second spike? How did you know?" Yamamoto gleamed in the crowd of faces. "Erm, yes. I knew it was an out," I answered quickly.

"How did you receive Captain's spike so perfectly? It took me a few months! The ball even went to the perfect position after!" Yaku's turn to voice out. "Erm, I- I just went for it I guess?" I tried to explain but they were really close to me now. I stumbled back and almost lost my footing.

A pair of strong arms caught me by my shoulders and I looked up to see Kuroo. "I'm just as surprised as any of y'all here, but let's respect personal space, shall we?" His voice was soothing as always. The team then sputtered a few apologies and backed off. "Thank you," I said as Kuroo released me from his arms. "You guys are a bunch of idiots," Coach Nekomata insulted the team and they felt a pang to the chest, "it's obvious she's a volleyball player. Look at those muscles! No one just gets them without any training!"

Ah, he's talking about my thighs and calves. Well, he's not wrong about training; it just wasn't volleyball training. He wouldn't be able to judge based on that alone. He must know something else and is just covering for me. "Ahaha! Well, this is embarrassing. I don't train for volleyball - I used to run track in middle school, so I guess old habits die hard," I told the group of guys.

I kept the fact that I'm this toned because I train in combat as well. The devil sessions that Kasun-san engages me in makes me vomit from exhaustion. They were all surprised and started complimenting me, which was super weird because... well, they're talking about my legs. Who wouldn't feel weird because of that?

"Enough! Back to practice! I want you all to work on your serves today!" Nekomata-sensei clapped his hands and instructed them. The Captain took over and the team followed after him with a few complaints. "How did you know?" I turned serious as soon as they left.

"Coincidence, mere coincidence. Last week, there was a broadcast for the Junior High Volleyball Competition and someone with the same family name took a great hit in the hot topic. I just thought y'all would be related somehow. This was all just trial and error, don't worry about it," Nekomata-sensei chuckled and sat down. "After today, I think I can confirm that guess is true. Both of you have the same dead-serious eyes, especially right now, Kageyama Amber."

My brother... Kageyama Tobio. On television? I have to check it out later. For now, I deemed Nekomata-sensei safe. I thought he would be involved in the drug case and has seen me through. But I think he really was just talking about volleyball. And he wasn't part of the school's teaching staff, so it would make more sense if he weren't involved.

"Since you're already in your attire, why not join them for a few serve receives?" Nekomata-sensei suggested. "I guess I will," I gave in to his words and jogged up to the guys. They greeted me with open arms.

It was finally Friday, the last school day before winter break. I had received news that there would be little activity about the drug case as there wouldn't be any harvest during winter. I was told to expect business to return as usual around late January when school starts again. Meanwhile, I was told to brush up on my grades and "hang out with friends".

I sighed dramatically and put my head down on my table. "What's wrong, Kageyama-chan?" I heard Yamamoto ask beside me. I took out my term test results and showed it to him without even lifting my head.

He took them out from my grasp and laughed hysterically, "29/100 for math? Oh, poor soul, 31/100 for science! HAHA! You need serious help. Oh, but your English is so good, though? 80/100? You must teach me your ways!"
