Kuroo's POV

"You were always there for me... saving me... I don't deserve you... I'll love you but... this is goodbye...." A string of words echoed in my head.

Wait, who was that? Where was I? I looked around the space, but all I could see was darkness.

I was finally able to open my eyes and the bright room blinded me. I stared up at the unfamiliar ceiling, trying to grasp what was going on. I moved my arms and realized I had been hooked to beeping machines and a blood bag.

Hospital? My memories came flooding back. My eyes went wide as I tried to sit up, but pain shot through my back and I couldn't move more than a few millimeters.

"Kuroo," I looked over beside me and spotted Kenma and the rest of my volleyball team in the room with me. "I'll go get the doctor and Mr Kasun," Yaku said as he went out of the room. "What happened?" My voice came out as a whisper.

"That's what we would like to know, you dumbass. A guy called Kasun contacted everyone and told us you were injured and needed us to be here. You were unconscious for a full day," Kenma furrowed his eyebrows, an expression full of worry.

"Where's Amber?" I asked. They all exchanged nervous glances; my heart monitor beside my bed reflected my heart rate increase. "Well, when we were called here, this Kasun guy said he'll explain everything to us when you wake up. He also said 'everything about Amber' as well," Kenma sighed.

That can't be - I just heard her voice in my head before I woke up. Shit, I'm so tired.

The door to my hospital room slid open. Yaku, the doctor and a guy dressed in a suit walked in. The doctor came over and did quick checks on me before deeming me good to be awake for a talk. The guy in the suit thanked him and flipped through a thick file he was holding.

He was well built, not as tall as me, slightly shorter, but he was muscular. I could see his veins on his hands and covered in unruly scars. His hair was swept back and he had a cut across his right eyebrow. The room was silent as we all watched him gather his things and waited for him to speak.

"Is Amber with you?" I couldn't take it anymore and blabbered out the question to this man. He stopped going through his things, pulled out a few pieces of paper, and handed them over to Coach Nekomata, who was also in the room. He took a step back, gave a bow to all of us and introduced himself.

"My name is Kasun Gintarou. I work with the TMPD, Ministry of Defense. The documents I handed over are legitimate particulars about me and my work - as well as a comprehensive report of everything. I would like to thank you all for your time and especially Kuroo Tetsurou. I will summarize what happened yesterday evening,"

"On the twelfth of February, the TMPD had operated a raid on Nekoma Highschool for the use of Sanshin, a new formulate drug, that was found cultivating underground on the premises. In the raid, there was someone whom all of you knew and she was a part of the raid. When she was in a pinch from one of the attackers, Kuroo Tetsurou had come in to save her. Which was where and when he had suffered the injury."

"Drugs? In Nekoma?" Spoke Kai.

"Yes."

"Cultivating underground? Where?" Asked Yaku.

"The gardening club."

"You're saying Amber-chan works for the TMPD, Ministry of Defense?" Asked Yamamoto.

"That is correct."

"Enough of all of this bullshit. Where is she?" I snapped. I didn't care about all of this. Was she safe? What happened after? Mr Kasun turned towards me.
