TRIGGER WARNING - mentions of abuse
It was finally time to go back home. Brooklyn couldn't contain her excitement as she was packing. She had a single suitcase with her which means she couldn't pack that much. She made sure she packed enough underwear and socks for at least three weeks. She wasn't too sure when break ended.
Brooklyn then started packing her clothes. She had packed up some pants, skirts, and tights. She wasn't sure if it had snowed back at home or not. So she packed up her boots just in case. She also packed enough sweaters and long sleeve t-shirts.
Once Brooklyn was done, she had laid down on her bed. Her roommate Quinn, had come back from her last class and started packing. Quinn was beautiful in Brooklyn's eyes. But Brooklyn wasn't sure if Quinn liked girls, plus Quinn was older than Brooklyn. There might be only a year difference, but Brooklyn doubted that Quinn would like someone younger than her.
"Are you excited for break, Brooklyn?" Quinn asked, flashing a smile at Brooklyn. Brooklyn's stomach did flips.
"Uh yeah. I'm really excited to see my twin brother." Brooklyn answered.
"Oh I didn't know you had a twin brother. Looks like we have something in common." said Quinn.
"Yeah, he goes to Hogwarts. I really wanted to go to Hogwarts but my parents made me go here. Are you excited for break?"
"Yes, very much so. This work has been kicking my ass. It only gets harder as you get older." Quinn said, smiling. "But it definitely pays off in the future. I wish I could be a first year again. Now I'm stuck as a second year. It's not terrible though. Also, I have a question, and I'd like you to be honest with me. Do you like Bella and Tina?"
Bella and Tina were Brooklyn and Quinn's other roommates. They were both fourth years and extremely pretty. Bella had blonde hair and Tina had light brown hair. They both shared the same blue eyes. Bella and Tina were fraternal twins.
"I don't think I talk to them enough to know if I like them or not. They're barely ever here in our room, so I don't get a lot of opportunities to talk to them." Brooklyn answered honestly.
"Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with you. But you're definitely my favorite roommate." Quinn said, winking at Brooklyn. This made Brooklyn turn a deep shade of red. "When's your birthday?"
"March 27th."
"No way! That's my birthday too. Except I was born in 1959."
"That means our brothers have the same birthday too!"
"Wait, I just had an amazing idea. What if we meet up over break? Like in Diagon Alley or something? I'll bring my brother and you bring yours."
"Yeah we should definitely do that! It would be really fun." Brooklyn exclaimed, excited at the possibility of seeing Quinn over break.

Quinn and Brooklyn talked until it was time to leave to go home. Brooklyn was slowly starting to develop more of a crush on Quinn. Brooklyn and Jack met up so they could sit next to each other in the carriage on the way home.
"So, you talked to Quinn for almost four hours?" Jack asked as they got in their carriage.
"Yes! And she called me her favorite roommate! But I don't think she'd be into girls."
"Who knows? She might be. You never know. And I didn't know you liked girls until you told me two weeks ago."
"Yeah but I also like boys too. I don't know which one to pick. Like my friend, Remus, he's super attractive. And so is Quinn." Brooklyn sighed as the carriage started to take off.
"Who said you have to choose? You could just be bisexual."
"What's bisexual?"
"It means you like boys AND girls. You don't have to choose."
"Thanks Jack. Maybe I am bisexual. Also, where's Jonathan?"
"Oh he's with Madame Maxine in her carriage. She wanted to talk to him. Turns out, she knew his parents."
"Okay, just as long as he's safe."
"Can I come over during break? Sometimes my family can be a bit much and I need a break from them." Jack asked, timidly.
"Yeah, I'm sure mother wouldn't mind." Brooklyn said. "You'll always have a place at my house, if you need it. My mother would be glad to have more kids. You know, she had trouble getting pregnant with James and I. She thought she was just going to have one baby, but ended up having twins. She told me at some point she wanted five kids. So I'm sure she'd love to have more kids. She already loves that Jonathan is staying with us. My parents are in the process of adopting him. Please don't tell him, it's supposed to be a secret."
"That's awesome! You know I'd never tell." Jack said. "Would you mind if I talk about my issues with my parents?"
"No, I wouldn't mind at all."
Jack talked about his family issues for the whole ride. His parents argued a lot and often got Jack in the middle of it. His parents were on the brink of a divorce. Another argument might lead to the divorce and then Jack wouldn't know where he'd be going. His parent's arguments often got physical but Jack was never hurt physically.
Brooklyn comforted her friend as he talked about his parents. Multiple times Jack broke down in tears. Brooklyn wanted nothing more than for her best friend to not have to deal with these issues.
The carriage came to a stop and the two wizards got out. Brooklyn said her goodbyes to Jack, and he hugged her tightly. He cried slightly when he departed, knowing he was going back to his abusive home. Brooklyn smiled as she saw Euphemia and Fleamont Potter. She ran towards them with her trolley.
"Brooklyn!" Euphemia shouted, excited to see her daughter.
"Mom!" Brooklyn reached her parents and gave her mother a big hug.
"What's up kiddo?" Fleamont asked, reaching for a hug.
"You ready to go home and see your brother?" Euphemia asked.
"Yes of course!" Brooklyn nearly shouted.
The three Potters headed off towards their house, where Brooklyn knew she'd be seeing her brother once again.
