Brooklyn somehow wasn't ready to leave Beauxbatons. She had decent roommates and classmates but not really anybody to miss. Jack would be coming home with her and he was transferring to Hogwarts with her. He was truly her only friend. But somehow, she still wasn't ready to leave.

Brooklyn loved the French countryside and thought it was extremely beautiful. She had done a lot of comparing and contrasting on the French countryside versus the Scottish countryside. The Scottish countryside won but Brooklyn had also wanted the French countryside to win. She knew that she could visit whenever, but she would miss living in the French countryside.

It took her weeks to pack her things. She didn't realize how many things she had packed to take to Beauxbatons. She had only needed to take clothes home for winter break, but now that she was leaving Beauxbatons for good, she had to take everything with her.

Brooklyn forgot how many books she had taken. Remus also had sent her one every month for her to read so there was an abundance of books lying around the room. Quinn didn't mind Brooklyn putting her books everywhere. She admired that Brooklyn loved books and put her mind towards something that will help her learn.

Now, Brooklyn was finally all packed up. Jack would be meeting her in their common room with all his things. They would definitely need a cart to transport their things to the carriage. Brooklyn walked down the steps into the common room carrying two duffel bags and dragging two trunks behind her.

Jack was already waiting for Brooklyn and he was sitting on the couch. Brooklyn walked over to him and put her things down. She sat down next to him, ready for a quick little break before they needed to catch the carriage.

"All ready to leave?" Jack asked.

"Not really, to be honest." Brooklyn sighed. "It seems great to be leaving, but at the same time, I'm not ready to leave."

"I get how you feel." Jack said. "It's not great leaving somewhere where you've made so many memories. But Hogwarts will be even better."

"Yeah, I hope so." Brooklyn replied.

Quinn dashed past them and started heading up the stairs before Brooklyn yelled out, "Quinn!"

Quinn spun around and walked towards Brooklyn and Jack.

"Oh, hey Brooklyn." Quinn said. "Are you all packed and ready to head home?"

"Yes I am," Brooklyn replied. "I just wanted to let you know that I will be attending Hogwarts next year."

"Oh yeah you wanted to go and I'm so glad your parents let you." Quinn hugged Brooklyn. "Stay in touch please. Carriages are now arriving."

"Bye Quinn," Brooklyn kissed her on the cheek.

"Bye Brooke."

It broke Brooklyn's heart to leave the first girl she felt like she was friends with. But she knew that it wouldn't be long before she was to see Quinn again.

Brooklyn and Jack gathered their things and made their way to the carriages. They loaded up the carriage, told the driver the address, and took off. Jack couldn't wait to start his second year and he couldn't wait to start at Hogwarts. He knew he wasn't cut out for Beauxbatons.

Brooklyn was excited to see her brother again. They wrote to each other quite frequently but not as frequent as Brooklyn would like. She had even gotten letters from Sirius which was odd. She was kind of mad at him because the last time they had spoken, he had said something insensitive.

"Was it hard leaving Quinn?" Jack inquired.

"Yes, it was." Brooklyn responded. "She was my first roommate. She was special. She was one of the only girls that were nice to me. I guess since I'm not Veela that gives every girl a right to hate me or something. Most girls there had blonde or brown hair but I have red hair. They shouldn't hate me for having red hair."

"That's true," Jack said. "Nobody should hate anybody based on their looks, that's kinda crappy. You didn't deserve that."

"It's a good thing we're leaving then, right?"

"Yep."

Brooklyn walked through the front door of her house. She bumped her luggage into the walls trying to get upstairs to her room. Jack will be rooming downstairs in the guest bedroom. Brooklyn knew James wouldn't be home for another hour so she decided to go check on Jonathan.

"Jonathan!"

"Brooke! You came home!" Jonathan exclaimed.

"Yes I did, my boy." Brooklyn smiled. "How's things at home?"

"We're not talking about me! We're going to talk about you! How was Hogwarts and Beauxbatons?"

"Hogwarts is amazing, I think you'll fit right in there. Beauxbatons is beautiful, as you know, but the classes aren't as good as Hogwarts classes. I think you'll enjoy Hogwarts more. You're bound to be on the Quidditch team. Where at Beauxbatons, there's no Quidditch team because "it's dangerous" and "not for ladies". Can you believe that?"

"That's weird. Quidditch isn't dangerous, is it?"

"It can be, but it's still fun."

"We've played it in the backyard before, right?"

"Yes we have."

Jack was leaning on the door frame, watching his best friend talk with her little brother. It was adorable seeing the way Jonathan's eyes lit up as Brooklyn told him about Hogwarts and her classes at Beauxbatons. He had hoped that he was as good with kids as she was.

It wasn't long before James arrived home. The first thing he did was give his sister a big hug. He told her all about the crazy train ride home. Then he hugged Jonathan and lastly, Jack. He felt like his family was finally big and considered Jack a part of the family.

James was happy to finally not have school on his mind and wanted to spend his summer relaxing in his bed. He knew his sister wouldn't be one to do that. He knew she was going to read and learn new things for next year. He didn't mind though. All that mattered to him was that she was home.
