She wakes to the sensation of soft kisses planted on her bump. A view of him talking to their "little ones" makes her heart flutter as Eli snuggles into her side—it is her favorite view of them. It feels like living a dream she once thought was implausible. She turned her back on this once, shrugging off the very thought of it. With all the heartaches she has outbraved and the shattered hopes she has survived, she once claimed the fact that a family of her own was just fiction.
Nobody was there when she needed someone. No one stayed when things went downhill, but she learned to get the hang of it. It is just her, after all. But when he enters her lonesome world, life takes on a different meaning. She dredges up the slight hope that it is probably him. Looking at those eyes glimmering at her, she finally finds the one she has waited for so long.
"Did I wake you up?" he asks, a sweet smile plastering his face as he moves back to her side.
"You three woke me up," she says, lifting a brow that makes him chuckle.
He kisses her forehead. "We're so sorry, mommy. I woke up seeing them kicking eh. When I talked to them, mas lalong naglililikot."
"Bakit pag ako kumakausap sa kanila, tumitigil kakasipa?"
He laughs. "Baka naman kase pinapagalitan mo."
"I talk to them, babe. Magkaiba yun."
"I'm just joking around. Ang seryoso mo. Nabitin ka ata kagabi eh," he teases, giving her a peck on her head.
She hits his shoulder. "We have a sleeping child next to us, babe. Mamaya ka na lumandi."
His gaze falls upon her beauty as silence sets in. Their eyes linger on each other with thoughts of love. No words can express the emotions they both have. Though things are tough at times, he learns from it all. Fatherhood is the best job he has in life, and he won't get tired of it. But there is one thing he hasn't reached yet—being a husband to the woman he cherishes and adores.
He intertwines their fingers. "I'll get to know the court result this week, babe. I hope we can get married before you give birth. Kaso nga lang, I might not give you the grandest wedding that you deserve and I'm so sorry for that, babe. Pasensiya na kagabi, babe. It was just a misunderstanding. Ang dami ko lang iniisip lately because I have been worried about how to manage our finances. When I said I'm tired I didn't mean about you and our children. I'm just tired of doing everything but still end up like this."
"Babe, it's not about the grand wedding. We don't need it. A simple one will do. As long as we have each other's back, that's the most important thing. And I want to apologize for making you feel that I didn't notice your effort. Babe, you've been such a good dad to our kids. I can see those sleepless nights you spend, your tiredness from work, and everything you do for us. We are so proud of you, daddy." She gives him a quick kiss. "Kaya natin to, babe."
It is all he needs to hear. Lea gives him a new meaning of love. She teaches him so much. Behind her past is a woman with so much to offer, and he can see how lucky he is to have her.
"Ang sarap non ah," he jests, earning another hit. Her sweet smile melts him. Despite her swelling belly, she never fails to unleash the wildness in him. Pregnancy blooms her even more; he finds himself warding off staring men whenever they hit the road. But he can't blame them. Lea is the prettiest in his eyes.
