He roams his eyes around when Lea and their kids left him sleeping. Waves crashing against the shore while sun kisses his skin, and he takes pleasure in running eyes over its serenity. It's calm and comforting. Wind hugs him as he paced the white sand, and there he found the loveliest woman in his life wearing the shirt he wore last night. Lea carries their little Psalm while Simon is sleeping soundly in a stroller. And, as usual, he hears the nagging side of Lea as Eli's stubborn self tests her mom's patience again. A picture of his own family. It feels like just yesterday when everything at this juncture was only true to his dreams. He lost the hope to see morning as lovely as this when she walked away.
But he has her now, only for him. That is just what matters the most.
He snakes an arm around her waist, sniffs the scent of her head. "Good morning to mommy and to our sleepy Psalm"
"Good morning, daddy", she gave him a quick kiss.
"I have looked everywhere for this shirt eh. Looks like it found a well-shaped body to cover"
And Lea huffs at her husband's giddy remark, "You don't like to see me wearing it?"
"Nope. I like to see you wearing ... nothing", he winks at her with faces nearly touching each other.
"Ang landi ng asawa ko", she giggles and Aga laughs along. Both exchanged a loving smile with gaze lingers to each other. Hearts beating the same rhythm - full of love and admiration - and mind knows they made it. This is the life they ever wanted. And, though they begun the journey to this moment with poignant memories, this is worth the wait.
She is worth of his every pain and happiness.
Doña Carol butt in the scene. She brings with her a few shopping bags, "Eli? Hija, you have to try these on!"
The newly wed couple shifts gaze to her and Aga shakes head upon hearing his mom, "I guess Eli would be a brat from now on"
"Sayo pa lang, spoiled na yang si Eli eh. Only girl pa in our fam", Lea added.
"Sabi ko naman sayo eh. We have to make another one. Malay mo this time, it's a girl", he jested.
"At pano kung lalaki parin? Babe, don't tell me taun-taon akong magbubuntis. Maawa ka naman sa'kin", she replied of which Aga snickers at her.
"The doctor said we have certain positions to follow para girl yung mabuo. We can try all those positions, babe", he only received a pinch on the side as a response and snorts out laughing at his wife's grimace. He's been trying to convince Lea for another little one but she declines each time. Growing up without siblings made him yearn for a big family now that he has his own. It was a dream he aspired to live in when Luisa and him were both in love before but fate had its own different path. She was once his first love but it faded when she shattered his life. But realization struck him, it wasn't probably a first love. Because it died when she left. It disappeared along the path she had taken to walk out of his life.
Maybe it's Lea all this time - his first love that really stood the test of time.
It's holiday season. Aga has plans for his family to spend the holiday abroad. Both of them have been engrossed by parenting and workloads after the wedding. And, he finds this season to take a break from life. But Lea asked him to drop by her hometown. It has been long ago since she left the town and moved to a place where she thought to spend the rest of her life alone - no one else to run to. But fate brought her to a place where her life begun to change. She found the man of her every dream. With so much happiness in her heart, she stood in front of her parents' tomb.
