Birds chirp at the crack of dawn, and she rubs her eyes upon waking. Eli is still sleeping with her head on Lea’s chest and an arm around her waist. Lea has her own sleeping positions, but she always finds herself squeezed into a smidgen of space whenever Eli slumbers next to her. Upon recalling Aga's one-night stay, she gingerly listens for his presence, but only the ticking of the clock meets her ears. She moves inch by inch, but there is no one behind her. Lea averts her attention to his spot and heaves a sigh of relief that he is no longer around. Assuming he has departed, she carefully moves Eli to the side, pulling the blanket to tuck in the sleeping girl. She gets up—heading to the bathroom—and takes a moment to assess the situation. She is letting him get closer to Eli, and she knows that entails possible trouble, but she doesn't want to bother herself with it for now. Eli is happy, and that is what matters.

She grabs her towel to take a quick shower. Upon sliding open the door, her heart almost jumps out of her chest when she sees him completely naked. Her gaze falls. She exclaims, turning her back to him, "Shit! Aga, ano ka ba?! You're using the bathroom with the door unlocked! Pano kung si Eli nakabukas ng pinto?!"

He smirks, staring at her as he covers his body. "It's just 5:30 a.m., Lei. Siguro naman Eli won't take a shower at this early hour? Besides, may sliding door naman eh. Had I known you wanted to take a shower with me, sana hinintay kita."

"Ang kapal mo!" she says, leaving the bathroom, but Aga takes delight in jesting with her.

He blocks the door. "Kung makatili ah. What part of me have you not seen yet?"

She scoffs in frustration, "Are you for real?! Let me just remind you of your wife who's probably waiting for you the whole night. Atsaka, akala ko ba umuwi ka na?!"

"Aha! So, hinahanap mo ko?" He crosses his arms, smiling playfully.

"Hoy, Aga! Tigil-tigilan mo ko. That won't work for me."

He scoffs, "So, what would work for you then?"

She hisses in annoyance, "Can you please just move?"

"Alright," he says, moving closer as Lea steps backward. "Like this? Gano ba kalapit pa, babes?"

"Aga, hindi ako nakikipagbiruan sayo!" She settles her palm against his bare chest to stop him. Lea gulps upon feeling his cool, broad chest.

"So do I," he says, holding her hand and pulling her body gently against his half-naked self. Words are lost as silence settles in the room, but his eyes tell the things her heart longs to know. Her pulse thumps in her chest like a drum—beating for him... only for him. His gaze never leaves her, as though he is terrified of losing her again. His grip seems intended to make her realize he will hold her for the rest of his life, never taking a chance on letting her go again. But she is ill at ease with this feeling she has opted to shun for so many years. It is far beyond her expectation that she has moved on—that he is just a part of a previous chapter she never wants to revisit. But now he is back, and pain is revived rather than sweet memories. She knows giving in will lead to the same path she once trailed, and he might just disappear from her life again. History would only repeat itself—broken pieces of her heart with no one else to run to. It is always like that. It never changes, and she is sure it never will.

He painstakingly moves closer to her face, testing the waters. Anticipating the feel of her lips brushing against his once again as their bodies move in sync, he bridges the gap. But right before he can taste her, a call disrupts the moment.
