The pavement feels like it is rolling up as he quickens his pace, sweat drifting down his cheeks. Luisa calls out his name when he shuts the door in her face. Something is off, but he can’t tell what. Those eyes hold a profound secret, and he must know it. Despite the tremors and confusion, he is hotfooting after her. Perplexed looks trail him as he cannonballs toward the exit.

"Lea!", he exclaims at the top of his lungs.

"Leaaa!", he hastens toward her wheels—roaring the name he cherishes—with a drooping hope to mend the fragments of their kinship, but to no avail.

Her rearview mirror reflects the man she adores—her greatest love—shouting her name and tracing her pace, but she trots away. Maybe walking out of his life is all it takes to patch up the bits of her heart. Her eyes brim with tears as she steers her car away. She doesn't want to hear any more words from him. He is getting married. A happy life awaits him, and she doesn't want to hinder it. He deserves it. Luisa is likely a match made in Heaven for him, not her. She has never been a good match for anyone, and she is used to it.

He gasps for air, watching her trot away. She is hurt, and he can sense it. But they are over now; he lowers his gaze as he realizes it. Choking back tears, he watches her until she disappears from sight.

The curtains close on their failed mutual feelings.

He turns around—dreary and addled—only to see a woman with glassy eyes staring at him.

"Is she Lea?", Luisa asks.

"It's not important now," he passes by her, but Luisa grabs his arm.

"Of course, it is! So, siya nga yung kinababaliwan mo?!"

"Yes! She is, but that doesn't matter now! Ano pa bang gusto mo?! Pakakasalan na nga kita diba?!", he vents out, withdrawing his arm from her grip.

He can't deny the sting in his heart, but they are over now.

Lea drags her suitcase and fills it with her things. It took her some time to decide, but this time it is for real. She needs to set him free and live life on her own. It has been a few days without a word from Aga. No calls. No texts. They are like strangers again.

Emma and Jason watch as men load the truck with Lea's things. Lea called them the other night, but seeing the house emptyly confirms her departure.

"Don't tell me you're leaving?", Emma looks puzzled.

"I am, Em," she grasps her suitcase.

"Madam, bakit? Moving on doesn't have to mean leaving," Jason says.

"And Lei, where do you think you're going? Hindi mo naman kailangan umalis," Emma reaches for her hand, and the waterworks begin. Pregnancy hormones make her sensitive, but she must face these obstacles. The doctor gave her advice, and staying where she got hurt won't help.

"You're both right...", she strokes her belly. "Buntis ako"

Her friends gape at the news.

"Really? Madam, congrats!", Jason pulls her for a hug, but Lea brims with tears.

"Lea, bakit? What's wrong? You should be happy. Teka. Alam na ba to ni Aga?", Emma asks with concern.
