You finally made up your decision, on becoming a Hunter. You used to be a trained Shinobi, but now that your family is dead, things have to change.
You left everything behind except for one thing; it was a necklace that your mother had given to you before she died. The same people that killed the Kurta clan killed your family, you think they were called the spiders? Enough about them, not you or the Kurtas deserved this treatment. Your family was born with heterochromia (different colored eyes) which, for some reason, made you no better than other people. You were also the only survivor during the attack, when your family was killed.
"C'mon, where is it.. I swore I left it over here!" You were looking for your colored contact that matched one of your eye colors. You didn't want the whole world to know you were a part of the Shinobi's.
"Ah, here it is." You carefully placed the contact into your eye, and headed out onto the boat that was coming to your island pretty soon.
You sat next to the seashore, waiting for the boat. After a couple of minutes, you saw it in the distance, and waited patiently for it to come by.
They stopped by as a few people from your island aborted the boat, but you weren't familiar with any of them. They knew your secret, so they didn't want to talk to you. Hopefully they wouldn't tell anyone at least.
You got on the boat and saw a few people who were already on there. There was a little boy with green/black spiky hair, a blond haired guy that seemed around your age, and a tall man who was wearing glasses. He was also carrying a suitcase, he looked pretty old if you were being honest. Probably in his 30's or 40's.
As the boat kept moving, a storm was rushing in so you all took shelter on the boat. The blonde haired boy was reading a book- it looked pretty interesting but you were a bit shy to ask about it. He caught you looking at the book, and decided to approach you.
Oh no, your people skills were trash.
"May I help you?" He asked calmly.
"Oh- I- uh- I was just interested in the book you were reading, that's all." You managed to stutter out a couple of words, but that was really it.
"Oh. Would you like to take a look? My name is Kurapika by the way."
"Pleasure to meet you K-Kurapika! My name is (y/n)." You shyly waved, it was a bit hard to talk to people because everyone stayed away from you. All because of your eyes and your people. He smiled at you.
The old man started saying some things about the Kurta clan, and let's say that it wasn't the nicest. Kurapika got up and began to become angry, telling the man to take back his words. Apparently his name was Leorio. But you also had a question.
Did Kurapika have something to do with the Kurta clan-?
Well, you decided to not assume anything. All the Kurtas were dead, you still felt terrible. They had a special place in your heart.
"It's Mr. Leorio." The man walked off with a serious expression, which irritated Kurapika. You decided to find a place to rest, you were probably going to be on this boat all night anyways.
