Part 19

I completely mastered Ten, Zetsu, and Hatsu. The only step left was Ren, and then I'm about done. But I still wondered..
What was the mug with the water and the leaf for? What does it do? Does it serve a purpose? Maybe Bisky decided to drink something weird. She does that from time to time, but that one was a bit different. I got up and took another shower, then went outside with Bisky to learn Ren. I decided to ask her about that strange mug.
"Say, Bisky, what was that mug you were holding a couple of weeks ago?" I questioned her.
"Oh that? You don't know?" She yet again asked me like I was a total dumbass. I can't argue with that.
"I thought I told you, were you not listening?"
I probably wasn't. That's a bad sign.
"This will determine your nen type! There's quite a few actually, about six of them.

Enhancement!
The ability to strengthen yourself, or other objects too.

Transmutation!
Changing the quality or your aura to match something different.

Conjuration!
The ability to create objects from your aura.

Specialization!
A unique effect, but its ability is usually abused by the evil. It can allow you to take other people's nen abilities.

Manipulation!
The ability to manipulate animate and inanimate objects.

And lastly..
Emission!
The ability to detach aura from your body."

My god, that's so much I-
"Bisky, which do you think I'll be?" I asked her.

"Well, that depends on what you plan to use nen for. (Y/n), what's something that you have experience with?" The moment she asked me that question, I immediately remembered the fire from whenever I was a child. I had experience with..
Fire.
In fact, I have a lot of burns from it, too. A few on my thighs, one on the back of my neck, a couple on my hands, and a few others that are hard to see but they are there.
Maybe I could use..
Flames?
That's it!
I'll use flames!
"I have experience with fire! It's a lot to explain, but I'll use flames!" I said, confidently.

"Alright, gotcha! We'll practice that after we master your Ren, which may cut into the second month. But I'm sure we can get there in no time considering how fast you are learning these things!" She smiled. She didn't smile very often, so it was a pleasant sight to see.
"Oh, before I forget, my prediction is that you'll be an enhancer!"

It was the end of week four. I just finished mastering Ren, which means I had the hard part completed. I gave Bisky a high five for my hard work, but then decided to rest before I discover my nen type. I woke up and went back outside, noticing the cup that was sitting in front of Bisky with a leaf on top of it.
"Okay, put your hands around the mug like this!" She put her hands around the mug as a demonstration, and then scooted the mug a little closer to me so that I could reach it.
I put my hands around the mug, noticing the white aura forming around it once again whenever I use nen. I waited and waited, but nothing was happening to the water or the leaf.. not even the mug. It concerned me a bit.
"Bisky, am I too feeble for this?" I asked in confusion.
"No, that's not the case. If you were too weak, I would've kicked you out a long time ago!"
Very reassuring.
"Anyways! Try tasting the water." I did as she said and dipped my finger in the water, then put it in my mouth.
"Hm. The water tastes different, maybe a little sweeter.. this isn't normal water, is it?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Indeed it's not! This means that you are a Transmuter!"

A transmuter? Damn, that's pretty cool actually.

"That also means that my hypothesis was incorrect, but at least it gives you a simple way to control flames. If it was something else like manipulation, you would have to find a way to manipulate flames, instead. Now, let's get practicing! I want to see if you can use flames properly!

For a while, Bisky had me go through Ten, Ren, Zetsu and Hatsu for awhile until she was finally proven that I could use fire. It only tired me out a bit, but I don't mind that much. This only really made me stronger anyways.
"Okay, now try!"
I tried using nen, the same familiar aura appearing around me. I held my hands up in front of me, watching as small flames appeared from the palms of my hands.
..it was working!
It was actually working!
I was controlling fire!

But, it wasn't that much yet. I think that maybe if I practiced more, they would become much bigger and more effective. That's what Bisky had told me just now, so this should only take me another week. By then, I would've completely mastered nen.
"Well, why don't you get some more rest? It's been a long day."
That's probably the first time I've ever heard Bisky say that. She's never told me to take a break, but okay. I drifted off to sleep, feeling quite proud of myself that I was able to do all of this to quickly.
