Everyone had gotten an egg, well, everyone who didn't fall to their death just now. You hoped those who didn't make it back up were still alive at least. You boiled the eggs, and transferred to the next phase.
——

You all got on the airship, and this short guy with brown hair and a blue outfit went up to you. No one noticed it, though. His tag was the number sixteen.

"A sweet girl should be careful on this phase, with me around there's no guarantee I'll let you pass~ why don't you go home?"

Excuse me?
Go home?
And the fact he was hitting on me only made it infinite times worse. You crouched down to his level, and started him straight down.

"That sweet girl won't be so sweet anymore after she crushes the people who piss her off the most. Got it?" You smiled creepily, startling him a bit. He backed off and ran away from you, as you got up and sighed. People were such a pain sometimes.

After you gave him his little pep talk, he was being nice to everyone. Even Leorio and Kurapika, but it wasn't really any help. You could see right through him, he's trying his best to make the both of them fail. You better warn them before that stupid short guy comes back.

You silently followed the path to where Kurapika and Leorio went, just to see a sleeping Leorio and Kurapika sitting on the ground. Kurapika signed you to sit down next to him when he noticed you walk from the corner.
You sat down next to him, and sighed.

"Is there something wrong, (y/n)?" Kurapika asked you.

"That guy with the tag 16 is lying. All the advice he's giving you is only providing you answers to screw up," you told him.

"Hmm, I see. He was acting a bit strange, and what he told us didn't seem logical. I noticed a bit as well, but thank you for confirming," he smiled, but then looked confused. "Was there anything he told you?"

"I'd... rather not say." You knew he was asking this question to get information so that it would be easier to pass, but what he told you was uncomforting  to say the least.
"Um, well, he was kinda- hitting on me. Nothing special, just treated me like shit afterwards. It's no big deal honestly."

Kurapika looked at you with a slightly pissed off expression. "No big deal? (Y/n) that's terrible. I'm really sorry, tell me if that happens again ok?"

That made your heart pound like crazy. No one really cared about you, until you met Kurapika and the others. But Kurapika cares about you the most, and that's what made you feel special. There was something different about him, you just couldn't lay a finger on it.
——
You were at the third phase of the exam -

Trick Tower.

An examiner explained all of the rules to the phase, and pointed at a tower in the distance. It was pretty bland, a beige cylinder that seemed to be hundreds of feet tall.

You all went on top of the tower, and Gon looked below it. It surely was a long way down, if you fell then you could die. A stuck up man came up to the five of you, confident in himself.

"I guess I'll be the first one to pass the third phase of the exam," He said with a grin. The man started climbing down the tower, but you already sensed things were not going to go well. This always happens.

A giant red animal came up from behind him and swallowed him whole. Yep, you guessed it. Nothing ever goes right in these kinds of situations. It then flew away, which kinda creeped you out.

If you couldn't climb down the tower, then you had to find out some other way to get inside of it. You, Kurapika, and Leorio were discussing ways to get in until Gon called your name.

"(Y/n)!! Kurapika!! Leorio!!" You turned behind you and saw Gon waving his hand, signing the three of you to come over. You walked over to him, feeling confused.

"What is it Gon?" You asked him.

"I found a hidden door in the ground!" He crouched down and pressed down on the tile, causing it to move. Impressive.

Kurapika seemed just as surprised. "Ohh, I see. We can descend by flipping the stones." Leorio insisted on going down now, but there was still something bothering Gon a bit.

"Buttt, I'm confused. There's a hidden door right there, there, over there, there, and there." He pointed at five different places. Was it really this easy-? Five doors in the ground, capable of going in all of them.

"Well, if there's five doors located near each other, some could be traps," Kurapika added. You never thought of that, it was quite clever of him.

After talking about the doors in the ground for a bit longer, you finally figured it out. Only one person could go in each door to enter the tower.

You all spread out and stood on the door you decided to enter, I guess this was goodbye for now. We'll meet up again in Trick Tower.
