We're at the car, not speaking to one another. I noticed the taxi driver looking at us from the rear view mirror and gulped as I looked at him with a glare. He looked away and continued driving. I propped my elbow near the car window as I scanned through the streets of my, now, past home. I sat back up, straightening my position and laid my head back. I closed my eyes and thought about the things I'll do at Canada. Then I come to realize that I didn't even know which city we're gonna be living in. I opened my eyes and looked at my mom.
"Which area are we gonna be in?" I asked in a whisper.
"Toronto." She answered shortly.
"Why didn't you tell me your father was coming?" She asked, of course, anger in her tone.
I gulped, feeling scared.
"He told me not to tell you..." I answered quietly.
She sighed and that conversation ended there.
Silence soon fell after that, making it even more awkward for all of us. I closed my eyes once again and soon fell asleep.

We got to the airport with all of our bags in the cart that we took. My mom told me to stay somewhere with the bags as she checked us in for our flight. As she left, I took my phone out from my pocket and scrolled through my photos. I got bored and soon grabbed my backpack and fished out my earphones. I had 5 earphones with me and 10 more in my luggage.
Then I remembered Yuzuru. He always talked about earphones. Probably one of the reasons why we got along.
I shook my head and just picked my KZ ZSN pro. I connected it to my phone and scrolled through my music gallery. I picked 'Little more' by Catie Turner.
As I was listening, I looked at the people on the counter, observing them. I looked at the people who's in the duty free store. I looked at children, holding their stuff toys. Everyone seemed so interesting all of a sudden.
I noticed at the corner of my eye and saw my mom coming towards me. I pulled one of my earphone out so I can hear her. She gestured me to get up and go inside the gate. I nodded and pushed the cart towards the immigration gate. We put all of our luggages in the drop-off luggage area. We passed the gate and went to the restaurant inside the airport.
"You hungry?" My mom asked fishing out her wallet.
"Kind of..." I muttered.
She went to one of the restaurants and ordered. I pushed the cart to a nearby table and sat down.
Again, I observed every nook and corner of the airport. Observing the airplanes, the workers, the lights. Guess you could say I was bored but actually, maybe I was just memorizing this place so I won't forget it. My mom came with food in her hands. She place a plate on my part of the table and to hers as well, and placed the food in the middle. She gave me chopsticks and said our blessings.
"いただきます (Itadakimasu - I gratefully recieve)" We said in unison and ate our food in silence.
We finished eating and went to the seating area near the gate. We sat down and chilled for a while. I looked at my mom and observed her from head to toe.
"Anything you want to say?" She asked.
I shook my head signaling a 'no' as an answer and looked in front of me. There was a tv near the gate and I watched that to pass time. It was a cartoon show that I used to watch with both of my parents. I looked away, not wanting to remember what had happened earlier. The woman who was at the counter has called all passengers to board the plane. We took our hand-carry with us and walked to the counter. We boarded the plane, looked for our seats, and placed our bags at the overhead bin. We sat down and waited for the plane to move.
I closed my eyes and just listened to music that was blasting through my earphones. I was thinking of the things that I'll miss here in Japan. The food, the culture, my family, school, memories, and myself. The last thing I thought before giving up to slumber was Yuzuru.

We landed. We finally landed at a foreign country that soon will be my home. We got our hand-carry and set foot of the foreign ground.
We're now at the taxi waiting area, all of our luggages in our hands and stood there, waiting. We moved forward and it was our turn to get a taxi until a hoard of people came rushing in to the airport. Me and my mom were shocked at the amount of people coming in. Cameras everywhere, reporters coming in from every side. Me and my mom looked at each other realizing there's probably a celebrity. The once long line now empty, and now surrounding this person. My mom told me to check and I did. I tried squeezing in to see what was the commotion all about. I realized all the people who were in the crowd were from Japan. The reporters, the cameramen, the people screaming, everyone was from Japan. It made me smile that there were people who are from the same country as us. Then I got so curious as to who was this celebrity that they're here for. I squeezed in even more and there, the celebrity.
