Tubbo

Both of us were sitting on the ledge of the cobblestone platform I'd built. We looked off into the horizon. The sun was rising right now, and it felt like such a perfect moment.

"What happened, why are you all the way here?" I asked Tommy.

He never looked at me when he responded. "I don't know, I just remember Dream, and then smoke, and horrible, horrible memories." Tommy stared off into the sky, not wanting to elaborate anymore.

"What did you remember?"

The air was filled with silence.

Tommy took a deep breath and adjusted his position. "I guess just mostly childhood memories."

"Do you want to talk about about it?" I asked.

He shook his head and it was followed by silence.

"Well, I'm glad that you're back. Techno and I took forever to find you. We were the only ones left from that smoke bomb, and we had to find all of you guys. I got so worried for you since it took a really long time to find you guys and I was really scared that I wasn't gonna find you again after we had just became friends again. I can't believe that Dream would take you this far and leave Big Q and Fundy back at L'manburg. But I eventually found you, and it's because of this." I held out my hand and revealed the compass that was pointing towards the necklace hanging from Tommy's chest.

A slight smile formed on his face when he saw me holding it. "So you do remember it?"

"Yeah, I do."

A few minutes of silence had passed. We both relaxed into the platform as we looked up into the sky.

"Should we go back to L'manburg now? I'm sure Techno and the others are wondering where you went," I said.

He didn't answer me.

"Tommy?"

"Yeah, I'm here. I'm a little bit shaken though, I think I'll need a little bit more of a break," he responded.

"Alright."

I almost fell asleep right there because of the lack of rest I'd had, but an alarming noise was heard in the distance. It sounded something like.. TNT.

"What was that?" I asked, getting up immediately.

Tommy looked as surprised as me. Then, his face went into sadness again. "Probably Dream."

"What?"

"He's probably blowing up L'manburg right now."

"But aren't we far from L'manburg? I traveled thousands of blocks to get here, there's no way that we would hear the TNT from here, right?"

"We are far from L'manburg, but Dream is the owner of the server. He has infinite TNT. We all know what he's going to do with his power."

There's no way that Dream had blown up so much land that it reached to us. Right?

"Wait," I asked. "How do you know we're far from L'manburg?"

Tommy kept his blank stare fixed into the distance.

"Tommy." I said, trying to get him to truthfully respond.

"Tubbo, look. I may have lied to you, but not because I hate you. I do remember everything. I woke up when Dream was taking me here on a boat, and it was horrifying. He told me everything he wanted to do; to you, to L'manburg, and to all of my friends. He wants power, Tubbo. And, well, I don't think we can stop him this time." Tommy looked in the direction of where the explosions came from, seeing smoke rise from there. It seemed to be getting closer and closer by the minute.

"What did he say?" I asked, trying to pry him of information. I really needed to know.

"Things that you should never hear of."

A sinking feeling filled my stomach, hoping that Tommy hadn't been through too many terrors. I know that exiled had already scarred him, and I was hoping that he would maybe heal over time, but now that this happened..

"Well," I said, swallowing hard. "If we go back, we can try to defeat him. We're Tommy and Tubbo, remember? We can do anything.." I trailed off.

A tear quickly came to my eye when I saw the doubt in Tommy's face.

"Tommy we need to get L'manburg back."

"Tubbo," Tommy replied. "I don't think this is a war I can fight."
