Tommy

The celebration for Tubbo becoming president was finally happening. We had to postpone it while L'manberg was being rebuilt, but that gave us enough time to plan for it properly at least.

L'manberg had been decorated by Karl, Ranboo, Puffy, and Ghostbur while some others made festival activities and set up fireworks. Everyone was excited, especially Tubbo.

"L'manberg looks so cool with all of the decorations, Tommy! I can't wait!" He said, fidgeting eagerly on the bench beside me.

I chuckled a little and ruffled his hair. "Wanna listen to a music disc while we wait for the sun to go down?"

Tubbo nodded with a smile, so I went over to my ender chest and took out one of the discs. I slotted the disc into the jukebox and sat back down, listening to the gentle beat of the music as the sun began to sink beyond the horizon.

When the music finally faded to a stop and there was no light left in the sky besides the tiny glints of the stars and the soft glow of the moon, Tubbo and I began to make our way to L'manberg so he could announce the start of the festival. Almost everyone was there already, waiting patiently.

Tubbo stood in front of his seat and I took my place beside him. Big Q was by the button that had been set up to trigger the fireworks, and we all had smiles on our faces.

Tubbo cleared his throat and began his short speech. "Good evening, everyone! Who's excited for this festival?" He shouted, pausing as everyone cheered or made a sound of appreciation. "I am too, I am too. But, before it starts, I just wanna say how amazed I am that this isn't all a dream or something. Like, I'm really President of L'manberg. It's just such a weird thing to get used to, y'know?" He laughed a little before continuing. "Also, I really wanna thank everyone that helped to rebuild this nation, and also everyone who decorated for this festival and set up games and stuff. I can tell that you've all put a lot of effort into this, and I think we all deserve this night to have a break. So, without further ado, I would like to announce that the festival has officially begun!" He raised his arms as everyone cheered again. Big Q slammed his hand down on the button, releasing fireworks that exploded L'manberg's colours into the sky.

Everyone scattered to enjoy the festival activities, some going in groups, and a few people went over to the button to release more fireworks, but no-one had noticed that Tubbo didn't move.

I walked over to him and gently shook his shoulder. "Hey, Tubbo, you alright?"

He slowly turned to me with a terrified expression on his face, his eyes distant, before he suddenly ran past me and out of L'manberg. I watched him run, unsure of what just happened, but then I realized something and immediately bolted after him, worry clouding my mind.

Tubbo

I could hear everyone's screams. My chest felt like it was burning. I couldn't see properly. I felt like I couldn't breathe; my mouth felt like it was full of blood.

I didn't know where I was, but I knew I was in the corner of a cold room. I was hugging my legs to my chest and shaking, hitting my head against my knees to somehow stop the screaming and the pain.

I had my eyes shut tight, preferring the darkness to the haunting memory. If I opened my eyes, I would see Tommy crying over my bloody and mangled body, holding my head up as I coughed and choked on my own blood. I didn't want to relive the pain. I didn't want to see him hurt like that again.

      "Tubbo!"

I covered my ears with my sweaty hands, desperately trying to block out Tommy's voice. He sounded so broken. So devastated. It hurt.

      "Tubbo, can you hear me?"

I began to rock back and forth, pushing against my ears harder. I couldn't breathe.

"Look at me, Tubbo. Okay? Look at me."

I grit my teeth, trying to drown out his voice with the disgusting sound of scraping enamel, but eventually having to stop to gasp for air.

      "Tubbo."

Tommy's voice sounded clearer than before, and I realized it was because someone had grabbed my wrists and pulled my hands away from my ears. I opened my eyes and looked up from my knees to see who it was, and was surprised to see that Tommy was actually there in front of me. He wasn't crying. He didn't look hurt. He just looked worried.

I suddenly gasped deeply, not realizing that I had stopped breathing. Tommy let go of my wrists and gripped my shoulders, looking me dead in the eyes.

      "Breathe with me, alright?"

I nodded, and he began to slowly take deep breaths. I tried my best to copy him, eventually calming down.

I grabbed him and hugged him tightly, burying my face against his collarbone. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me onto his lap so we weren't hugging in an awkward and uncomfortable position, and I felt safe.

After a few moments of silence, Tommy asked, "Do you wanna talk about it?"

"Not now." I mumbled, not wanting to relive the memory again.

"That's alright, you don't have to. But can you at least tell me if you're okay?"

      "I'm okay now."

      "That's good."

We sat in a comfortable silence for several long minutes, just hugging on the cold stone floor of what I eventually realized was Tommy's house; I had automatically ran there when I began to panic. I listened to his heartbeat and breathed in time with him, trying to think of positive things to stay calm.

Tommy eventually spoke up again. "Do you wanna go back to the festival with everyone or call it a night?"

"I'm pretty sure I have to be there, right?" I said, lifting my head and looking at his face.

He looked down at me and smiled a little. "I can take your place for the night if you want to just sleep now."

I chuckled slightly. "Well, can I trust that you'll be responsible and not mess around?"

"Yes. I promise I'll be mature." He said in a very serious tone. I smiled gratefully and nodded a bit, basically telling him that I was alright with it.

As I began to slowly drift off to sleep, I felt Tommy run his fingers through my hair. I was about half-asleep when he slipped his arm under my legs and lifted me up, carrying me into the other room and laying me down on the bed.

"Sleep well, Big Man. I'll see you in the morning." He said, gently pulling the blanket over me. The last thing I heard was Tommy's soft footsteps heading out of the room and the quiet click as he shut the door before sleep fully took me.
