In this AU, Tubbo and Tommy are still streamers and everything is the same, but instead they've both gone to the same college and they're dormmates.
CW// Panic attack [?]
TubboIt was raining pretty hard when I finished a late stream, but that didn't bother me. I'd loved rain ever since I was a little kid; something about it was so calming and relaxing that I couldn't really explain.
I grabbed a jacket and was about to head up to the dorm building's roof, but then I considered asking Tommy if he wanted to join. Even if he didn't, I still needed to tell him where I was going.
I walked over to his room, about to knock, but stopped when I heard him laugh and say something to his chat.
Oh, I forgot, he's still streaming.
I decided to just message him as I left.
There seemed to be so many stairs just to get onto the roof, but it was worth it. When I pushed open the door, a cold gush of wet air hit my face and the soothing sound of rain became so much louder. I used the stopper that I brought to keep the door slightly open and walked out to the ledge, sitting down on the soaked surface. I knew I couldn't stay out for too long or I'd catch a cold, but the rain was so nice. I leaned back on my hands and stared up into the dark, cloudy sky, and took a deep breath. I was almost completely relaxed.
Well, until a sudden flash of light and a deafening crack of thunder startled me, and I began to panic. I'd never dealt well with loud noises before, so I scrambled to my feet and ran for the door, only to break down when I saw it had been slammed shut along with the stopper. There was no escape, and not even the rain could calm me down as another distant flash of lightning warned me about the thunder.
TommyAfter I had just ended my stream, I got a message from Tubbo that he was on the roof. I shrugged it off, knowing he loved the rain, and went to raid the fridge for a snack.
It had barely even been five minutes when I heard the low familiar sound of thunder. I froze.
Thunderstorms had never bothered me, but Tubbo had once told me that he couldn't handle loud sounds, and he was on the roof at that moment. Thunder was louder outside.
I hurriedly grabbed a jacket and ran for the staircase, worried that Tubbo could be having a panic attack in the rain. I tripped over multiple steps on the way up and almost threw myself at the door when I got to it. When I saw him, I stopped.
Tubbo was curled up on his side with his knees to his face and his hands clamped over his ears; he was only a short distance away from the door, but he couldn't have opened from it from the outside.
I knelt down by his head and gently grabbed his hand; he flinched at the contact. Tubbo slowly looked up at me, his tears combining with the rainwater, and his face was suddenly highlighted by a flash of lightning. He threw himself at me as the thunder came; he was shaking badly as he wrapped his arms tightly around my neck, sobbing against my shoulder. I wanted to comfort him, but he needed to get out of the rain first and I wasn't strong enough to pick him up.
"Tubbo? Tubbo, can you hear me?" I wrapped my arms around him, speaking close to his ear so I didn't yell. He nodded in reply. "Alright, good. I need you to stand up with me, can you do that?" I asked. He nodded again. I gently pulled away, and he began to stand up when I did. I guided him to the door and we made our way back to the dorm to escape the rain.

Tubbo was curled up asleep in a blanket on the couch, rain sounds playing through his headphones to help. He had calmed down a little when we got back to the dorm, and I suggested that he should take a nap to try and relax. I smiled at how peaceful he seemed.
I'd rarely seen Tubbo genuinely upset, and I'd only been around for one of his panic attacks before, so seeing him looking so fragile and terrified was just awful.
I sighed heavily as I sat down on the other end of the couch, overthinking about what could have happened if I hadn't shown up when I did or what wouldn't have happened if I had shown up sooner. Then I felt a small tug on my shirt sleeve and turned to see Tubbo, half-asleep.
I chuckled a little. "Yeah?"
"Hug." He mumbled, his eyes closing slightly. I smiled and pulled him close. He smiled as well and fell asleep against my chest, so I slowly lay back and let him rest on me. I subconsciously played with his hair while I scrolled through Reddit just for something to do, until I eventually fell asleep as well, dreaming about nothing.
