This oneshot is a really old draft that I forgot existed.
It basically contains two headcanons from the Origins SMP:
One; Tommy finds it very hard to accept the fact that avians are flightless and constantly ends up hurting himself trying to fly.
Two; Tubbo's shulk form was like a caterpillar before it becomes a butterfly, and he came out of his chrysalis (a shulker box) as a bee hybrid.
Tommy"I'm telling you, Phil, I was close this time!" I huffed, trying not to move my arm too much as it was being bandaged.
Phil chuckled softly. "Sure, mate."
"I was! I promise!" I insisted.
"He wasn't." Tubbo said as-a-matter-of-factly, hovering just above the ground beside us, his small wings beating so fast that they made a slight buzzing sound. My own wings fluttered a little with envy, still uselessly hanging from the ligaments in my back.
"Fuck off, Tubbo," I frowned at him, still annoyed that he could fly and I couldn't. "I know I'm gonna get it someday! And then- and then you're all gonna be standing there, feeling like a bunch of fuckin' idiots for ever doubting me!"
Phil smiled at me. It was a kind, sympathetic smile. "I'm sure we will, Tommy."
I gave him a confused look; why did he look so sad?
"Alright, done!" Phil suddenly said, gently letting go of my arm. "Try not to get hurt more today, you chaotic little child." He laughed, pushing himself away from the small counter that I was seated on.
"Thanks, Phil!" I grinned, hopping down from the wooden counter and heading towards the edge of the floating island that The Pube sat on. "C'mon, Tubbo!"
"Wh- Okay!"

It was midnight when Tubbo and I eventually made it back from our little journey. We'd decided to go exploring, since Phil scolded me every time I attempted to fly again.
Tubbo went down to his little hive thing that he shared underground with Ranboo, and I waved goodbye to him as I began climbing up to The Pube so I could sleep.
As I reached the top, the gentle hum of murmuring voices made me stop.
I edged closer to the door and jumped up onto the ledge above it, curious of what the people inside were saying - I knew full well that they would stop talking as soon as they knew I was there, so I chose to eavesdrop.
I heard Wilbur's voice first.
"He's still trying?"
"Oh, you know how the young ones are," Phil replied. "It's always so hard for them to accept it early on."
"But, Phil, he's seventeen. He should've accepted it by now." Jack Manifold's voice almost startled me - it didn't seem like a conversation he'd be part of.
"This is different from what you went through, Jack." Phil said, politely and gently, as if not to offend the annoying blazeborn.
"How is it? Like, c'mon, blazes actually can fly - well, hover. It's kinda hard to accept that I'm not-"
Wilbur cut him off, sounding mildly irritated. "Jack, it's really not the same."
"Explain."
