My eyes hurt. I was so tired, but I couldn't manage to fall asleep. Everything ached. My tears felt like they burned my skin.

I got a letter. I told myself I would read it later.

A few days passed. I hadn't realized until another letter had appeared, telling me so. I really should have replied, but instead I told myself I would do it later.

Someone came knocking at my door. When I looked out the window, I saw that it was now the morning, and the snow that I'd seen falling before was practically all melted. How strange the passing of time can be. I told myself I would answer the door later.

      Later.

      Everything would be fine later.

      I would be okay later.

      People would see me later.

I would talk to them later.

      Everything would be fine.

I wondered if it was true that time healed all wounds.

I wondered until the sun no longer had its place in the sky.

I wondered until the stars that I had seen were no longer there.

I wondered until the cold turned to warmth and light turned to dark.

I wondered until it was later.

But time didn't heal and later never came.
