Chapter 45

Finn was asleep after he said the words which could even break the friendship we had.

Jason had once told me that Finn have had feelings for me. At that time, I did not give any heed to it and had thought that it was just his imagination. However, after all this time, the real truth had come out.

It was up to us regarding how we handled it. I knew that one sided love in between friends were complicated. Never did I think that I would be the one to face it.

"Hey what are you doing here?" It was Aiden whose voice broke my trail of thoughts. He was standing at the fringe of the house.
"Finn's drunk and dozed off here," I stated.

"What? How?" Aiden asked and ran towards where we were.
"What has got into his head? Why would he drink so much?" Aiden inquired.

"You okay? You look distant," Aiden told me once he looked at my face.
"Aiden, Finn kissed me saying that he loved me before he dozed off," I announced.

Aiden at once began to laugh thinking that it was a joke that I had just cracked. However, when he saw that I was not laughing he sobered up and looked at me with all the seriousness that he could muster.

"Are you sure he said that?" Aiden asked.
"No my ears heard it all wrong," I added sarcastically.
"Oh shit Vee. It can't be true," Aiden stated once he saw that I was being downright serious.

"For now let's just take him inside," I said.
"You are really a good human being. If I were you, I would have let him stay out here for the night," Aiden joked which made me laugh amidst the horrific situation.

Aiden and I pulled Finn out of the sand and into the beach house.
"Now he can stay here for the night," Aiden stated once Finn was securely placed on the couch.

"What the hell happened?" Thea asked upon seeing Finn.
"Dozed off. Had too much to drink," Aiden announced.
"Why did he drink though?" Addison questioned.
"No idea," I added.

"Did you guys know that Finn had feelings for Vee?" Aiden asked after he checked that no one else was in the room except us.

"What?" Addison and Thea screeched together.
"Yeah he kissed me and told me that he loved me before he drifted away," I added.

"Are you sure he said that?" Nathan quizzed.
"Of course I'm sure," I stated. Why does everybody keep questioning me the same thing?
"Now what? What will you do about it?" Thea inquired.

Among all of them, Thea was the one who knew best what it meant to have one sided feelings for someone within the squad. Not a long time back, she had declared that she had a crush on Nathan. Honestly, all of us had suffered for a while after that because of the tension and uncomfortable gatherings. Though at that time the situation was worsened due to other things, I could not help but think that our friendship would be at stake.

I did not want to lose any of my friends. I adored Finn but not in the way he did apparently.

None of us spoke about it later. All the others had probably even forgot about it. However, even though I was silent, the thing was in my mind the entire time.

After dinner I had got out of the beach house to get some fresh air. I sat on the porch while the cool breeze kept on blowing.

Unlike most of the times, my mind was rather empty. I was just cherishing the weather and the tranquility amongst it.

It was after a long time, when I heard the front door open. I turned my head to see Jason standing.
"What ya doin?" he asked.
"Just enjoying the serenity until you came to ruin it," I stated.
"My pleasure," Jason joked and came to sit beside me on the porch.
