THE MESS YOU LEFT BEHIND

Do you ever think about me?
Do you wonder how I turned out to be?
I think about you when I shouldn't
I think about how you are doing without me
Long story short I'll tell you how I been ever since you left
I don't see sleep in the same bed
Spend most nights on the couch downstairs
Too many memories in the room itself
Lately I don't keep in contact with anyone
My blunts and alcohol have been my best friends
It scatters the ashtray and floor
Go out to bars to get my mind off you
Just to end up in a strangers bed
I leave a note and leave in the morning
I look through the old stuff that you left
I hold it, softly brush it, wear it
To think on memories upon memories
Talking to the universe in hopes you hear my voice
When I don't hear a sound for a sign
By then I knew you forgot about me
I've been a mess since you left
Didn't turn out alright as I should have
But I know you are doing fine without me
