STAY

I sleep when the sun is up
I wake when the moon rises
My pillow have tear stains
The room looks bigger in the dark
Objects become figures but I pay no mind
The silence takes over with crickets sounds from outside
The stars tried to light the room but they needed help from the moon
Drinking myself to sleep isn't good
But it's the only thing I can drown myself in
When I'm thinking about you
I only have half a heart since you left
I know this is selfish to hope you're feeling like I am
Cause then i'll know what we had was real
If only you could have stayed until the morning sun
The feeling afterwards would have to wait
Now I lay with sleepless nights and drunken thoughts to avoid the memories that cloud my head
